I missed the discussion about measures being aimed to 'limit gun violence'.
The only measures I've heard discussed is how to prevent law abiding citizens from exercising their second Amendment rights. Discussions on how to disarm the law abiding citizenry. No discussions that I am aware of on how to dissuade gang bangers and inner city youths and criminals from shooting up folks. These day to day crimes dwarf those committed by the occasional, and freak event, lunatic.
Preach the fear of God and the judgment to come? Nah, just disarm the citizens and provide armed guards for the royals...
This weak ananlogy was already wearing thin in teh “gay marriage” debaet. Now the ‘Rats have exposed it by overuse as completely as bogus.
As for the racial suggestions? The problem here is that American minorities have been stripped of their racial pride, by demagogues, seeking to instill hatred & resentment rather than pride in honest effort, in order to control them as voting blocks. Do not fall into the trap of letting them make race--that is human heredity & the continuity of peoples--into something ugly. The ugliness comes in the process of substituting blame & envy for honest effort & pride in personal achievement.
The Left has been pursuing a terribly vicious end game strategy, at least since 2000, and too many Conservatives are playing into their hands, by responses that miss the essential nature of the tactics to which they are responding.
