The electronic pulltab sales slated to help fund the Vikings stadium are nowhere near their projected target, even after the state lowered that target last month, a House committee learned Wednesday.

The sale of electronic pulltabs, run by Minnesota charities, was supposed to generate $348 million in taxes to underwrite the state's share of the cost of a new Vikings stadium.
But the electronic pulltab games, introduced in September, have pulled in just $4.2 million in gross receipts -- and $635,000 in net receipts after prizes were paid.

Proposed state legislation: All citizens in the state must purchase $50.00 in pull-tabs and submit proof along with their state tax forms or face a penalty. Remember: it’s not a criminal act, it’s just a tax - and for your own good!
We just call it “Wilfare”.
Only the MN DFL could possibly have dreamed of building a stadium with pulltabs. Lead by Gov Googly Eyes.
Now Gov Googly Eyes had to add a pain pill for his bad back on top of the handfull of pills he takes already.
I guess the NFL Welfare program is not working.

Yeah ... the Cincinnati Bengals ownership (Mike Brown) pulled this same BS back in the 1990's. Build us a stadium or we're out of here ... the city fathers dutifully reached over and grabbed their ankles. Cost over run, over cost over run ensued. Brown got his stadium and the citizenry of Hamilton County (Cincinnati) got screwed ... bigtime.
