As I said, by failing to publicly condemn the man's actions, by failing to publicly reprove him for his very public sinful behaviour, the bishops are giving scandal. They are creating the appearance that his actions are consistent with Catholic belief and practice. This appearance is false, and is a grave danger to many souls.

Mario had it nearly sewed up but then-Gov Mario announced that he could not enter the 1998 New Hampshire primary because of his obligation to manage his state's budget crisis---that was the swan song of his long-running flirtation with the presidency going back to 1988.
He would have been the front-runner b/c expectations were high. Mario had even gone so far as to rush out of the Dem convention as a ploy to enhance his candidacy.
Then Catholic Mario made that radically pro-abort speech at Catholic Notre Dame.

I would not want to be in that priest’s shoes at judgment time. Nope, not at all.

The pro-choice mentality is the same as that which underlies the gun
violence which is such a curse. Someone states “It is my decision who lives
or dies!” Independent Panel Advisory Boards or Columbine, abortion or Sandy
Hook... they are all the same because someone makes a decision for the
living if they will continue to live... or not. My advice is that guns
should only be sold to pro-life people who believe life is precious and
sacred. They would only use a gun for to protect and preserve life. Along
with the loss of rights to free speech and association goes the right to
bear arms. Sadly, the right to life (as in life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness) has been gone since ‘73.

If this is so, how much more will be found of the skulls of laymen found
there?
New York, be careful what you wish for. If you force all of your Catholic
Hospitals and clinics to close, if you chase all of these obstetricians to
leave New York to practice elsewhere who will provide your health care?
These hospitals and clinics serve more than you realize including those many
unable to get care any where else (those for profit facilities that expect
to be paid).
We all understand the politics of appeasement that the bishops have adopted.

already excommunicated himself by his actions, but we will still give him
Holy Communinion so as to err on the side of Charity.” Hmmm. I wonder if a
bishop would explicitly excommunicate a public figure who endorsed the
killing of bishops...
This makes me sick!The church is uner attack. Calling this man a catholic is
insane, he is catholic in name only. He couldn’t possibly attend mass and
receive the Lord in good standing. How does he sleep at night?
The country of my youth no longer exists. The murder of our unborn in the
name of “freedom” or “women’s health” is the greatest lie ever told.
Prenancy and giving birth are inconvenient, especially to the sexually
promiscuous, who consider their actions and subsequent consequences to be
easily remedied through abortion.
Our nation and its leaders, such as Cuomo, are being judged and found guilty
of serving Molech. Cry the beloved country.

Can more be said about those in authority, especially when it comes to
apeasing politians?
The Catholic Church needs to have some kind of dignity and excommunicate
this evil piece of garbage as soon as possible. There is no forgiveness for
him or rehabilitation. We need to hope the people of NY can extricate their
heads from their anus in the future and vote for better candidates!
Listen, there are many laws that State and Federal government has created
that are against Christian Catholic teaching. This new proposal is abhorrent
to be sure but its up to church members (NOT the leadership and NOT the
secular government) to set an example to people in general to reject their
participation in these legal laws. We have to lead people away from
destroying themselves and others in all forms. The problem with making laws
to make your Catholic point is that there is always an exception, a
loophole, or a blatant disregard of the spirit of the law. That is what
Jesus came to tell us. The law cannot save us only Jesus can. The government
will continue to make laws in contradiction to the Catholic principle. How
will you respond?
Forcing citizens to service homosexuality, grabbing their guns, increasing the kill-rate on nascent life...
Actually, only one Cardinal was there, and he purposely did NOT say Mass. He sat on the altar, at the side, and didn’t participate. Unfortunately, Cardinal O’Malley was under the mistaken impression that because Teddy was a Senator, he should be at his funeral. I wish O’Malley had stayed away, but it was a ‘political’ move, not a religious one.
Drinan died a few years ago, and by that time, he resembled a wizened old devil. I also shudder to think what judgement awaited him, and Teddy the Swimmer.
I know that was part of Hillarycare. That was one of the things that doomed it. Has anyone looked into Obamacare to see if it was part of that program, as well? I know it's more of a tax plan than anything to do with healthcare, but there must be something to do with health in it.
