A second gun buyback event is scheduled for Monday at the Mill Valley Police Department, but Berberian said people surrendering guns there will be told they won't receive any money. The buyback is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. What a great deal, a no money buyback.

A “buyback” where you receive no money... this take stupid to a new level.

The buyback is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Liberal doublespeak at its best: The government used other people's money to "buy back" firearms that never belonged to the government. After that, they defaulted on their promise to pay for the guns. Some prefer the security of a government nanny running their lives, but I prefer freedom.

Sounds like grounds for a lawsuit to me. Maybe even some criminal theft by deception charges for the States Attorney are in order.

I would have nothing against these buy-backs if they checked the serial numbers of every gun to see if it was stolen, and the only guns they got were worthless junk. It saddens me to see valuable collector’s items turned in for a pittance (or in this case, a worthless voucher).

What a scam but these feel-good imbeciles deserve it. Might as well promise the idiots who surrendered their firearms a stock option for a solar panel company.

Will the tax deductible donation be local or federal? Wait, I thought all cities, states and the fed are going belly up for lack of taxes. More robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Maybe next time they could trade in their guns for California carbon credits.
To: nickcarraway
I'm thinking we should conduct our own non-monetary "buyback" program and "redistribute" the guns and ammo acquired.
It's a simple structured-finance deal. Bernanke and Obama would approve.
