Mr. Biden told a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington that it was “pure coincidence” that he was in Lancaster County, Pa., on Oct. 2, 2006, when a deranged gunman was killing students nearby at a tiny Amish school.
“I happened to be literally — probably, it turned out, to be a quarter of a mile [away] at an outing when I heard gunshots in the woods,” Mr. Biden recounted. “We didn’t know. … We thought they were hunters.”

The Amish neighbor I had up north said there was no strict prohibition on hunting but it was generally seen as less productive than farming. He did say that when a deer was killed to protect crops it didn’t go to waste.
And weren’t you glad, Joe, that there weren’t any armed staff in that school with guns? It really made those kids SO much safer.

Joe “Manti” Biden was at a golf course 1/4 mile away from the one-room schoolhouse in the old Amish community of Nickel Mines, in the village of Bart Township of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where 10 children (girls) were shot and 5 died?
The only thing that happened in the Biden family on October 2 2006 was news that Beau Biden failed his bar exam 3 times.
The closest golf course to the one-room schoolhouse is the Moccasin Run Golf Club, Chester, PA about 5 miles away. Nice small family run course that opened in 1988. Call them and ask if Biden played there.
I will save you the trouble, they said no. The owner was very friendly and laughed it off. He checked his data base on his computer to be sure (as he was laughing) and sure enough no Biden ever been there. Said he would of remembered that.
He also confirmed he is the closest golf course to the one-room school house and next one would be in quarryville about 10-15 miles away.
You would think Joe “Manti” Biden would of mentioned it before or in his book. But no, now he stands on the graves of Amish children to make a point.
Joe “Manti” Biden never played college football and was not a 1/4 mile away from the schoolhouse shooting. Them are the facts.

In a followup report, the Washington Times found that there aren’t any golf courses close enough to the Amish school for golfers to have heard gunshots from so far away.
But a search of maps of the area in Lancaster County, Pa., shows the nearest golf course to the site of the shooting, Moccasin Run Golf Club, is about five miles away. Rodney King, the golf pro at Moccasin Run, said Friday he was working at the course on the day of the shooting and never saw Mr. Biden, who was then a U.S. senator.
At ten miles’ distance, the only other golf course is even farther away. Both courses are apparently too far away for golfers to have heard gunshots that were fired inside a school building.
