Big crowds expected at 'Indy 1500' gun, knife show at Indiana State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show opens Friday amidst the growing debate over tighter gun control.

Dave Mouradian, who owns a supply store just outside Detroit, arrived Thursday afternoon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

It's his 13th consecutive Indy 1500 Gun and Knife show. He's just one of 250 vendors from across the Midwest who says that interest is high and business is booming.

"People that never owned a firearm are now buying their very first one," Mouradian said. "We've seen more ladies going out and getting their concealed weapons permits. They're feeling unsafe. And a lot of people that have put off buying what they want are now coming out because they're afraid they may not be able to get it in the next day or two." ....

While all retail gun sales require the buyer to undergo a background check, Indiana law does not require a background check for gun sales between private individuals.

State Rep. Vernon Smith, D-Gary, has tried to close the so-called loophole for years.

"Indiana has become a spawning ground for everybody to come and buy guns," Smith said. "We must close that loophole."

Seems like the firearms industry is the only thing thriving in the economy since Obama has been in office.

They’ll make good, so leave your place marker.

There is some .22 available online at Palmetto State Armory, not a lot, but they do have some:

My point is that even that is almost exhausted due to the current run on firearms and ammo.

What scares me is when they have the run on the banks.

The only reason I’d sell them is to get something better. And right now there is nothing to buy.

You could bank the money, but that is a gamble too.
It’s a dilly of a pickle of a problem LOL

Better yet, get the money.
Sell high and put it back into other commodity’s that have not reached the apex on price.

It sure is. 3 months ago I was considering selling my National Match M1A. She’s a beauty. Glass bedded into a hand rubbed tiger birch stock and the correct Springfield Armory Rangefinding scope on an original factory mount. I’ve got 10 factory 20 round mags for it, too. The serial number is under 24,XXX and its all TRW where it’s supposed to be.

The replacement was a nice FN clone. My eyes just aren’t good enough for that Springfield anymore. But now, phhhhttt.. I couldn’t lay my hands on an FN for what I could get for that rifle. And that’s just crazy.

I wish I had picked up an FN 49 before the crazy set in.

Me too, my friend. The plan was sell the Springfield for a couple of grand and pick up an FN clone for half and put the remainder into ammo and mags.

Timing is everything, I guess.

I usually go every time, but I’m in China now.
I’m fairly well stocked up, and the crowds are guaranteed to be INSANE, so I’m not really that disappointed.

Prices on almost everything are through the roof everywhere.

The last M1A I handled was a Chinese copy and that was 6 years ago.
They wanted $950

Belgian Fabrique National.
This rifle would be the basis for the M1A and the FN/FAL

Growing Debate over Gun Control?

What Debate? We have a Mulatto Commie Prick subverting the Constitution and we have Law Abiding Gun Owners who will not comply.

That isn’t a Debate, it’s the beginning of a Revolution against Tyranny.
