Here’s an example of a “tough gun law”:

“If you’re found guilty of a crime involving a gun, you have a mandatory 3 yr. additional sentence.”

Which may sound ok, until you reach for a top shelf at Walmart and your Concealed Carry is exposed, and you’re charged with.....whatever....

No, a tough gun law would be along the lines: "If you kill with a firearm, you will be put to death. You have 1 month for 1 appeal. Sentence to be carried out within 24 hrs of losing that appeal.

No more life in prison with 3 squares a day, cable TV, workout equipment, and sodomizing the guy in the next cell whenever you want. No more years wasted on appeals. Mandatory sentence, 31 days.
