What Obama and the Dems know is that most people don’t understand that the 2nd Amendment was not to protect hunting, but to protect the right of a people to overthrow a tyrant. This was a principle established in the 17th century by the Jesuit legal philosopher Suarez in Spain, and is the reason there is a bust of him in front of the UN. Jefferson and others were aware of this theory.
Most Americans are completely ignorant of this, but Obama, like any nascent tyrant, is fully aware of it.
Would Americans do ths? I don’t think so, because we have always relied on legislative and judicial means to settle our conflicts, and people abide by this. But Obama is obviously not so sure about it. This is because he’s only a tangential American - that is, accident of birth to an American mother somewhere who eventually ended up back here and could get him he benefits of American citizenship but not the benefits of the American vision, because as a bourgeois leftie islamophile, she didn’t have it.
