In press conferences that have been held since 12/14, the Connecticut State Police have identified all of the weapons seized from the crime scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
"To eliminate any confusion or misinformation, we will again describe and identify the weapons seized at the school crime scene," Connecticut State Police Spokesman Lt J. Paul Vance said Friday, January 18, via a press release.
Seized inside the school were the following: a Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips; a Glock 10 mm handgun; and a Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun.
Seized from the suspects car in parking lot was a Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun.
The case remains under investigation.

Never in my life have I seen a 30 round clip. I've seen 5 and 8 round clips. In fact, a 30 round clip would serve no functional purpose whatsoever on something like the AR-15 platform.
The AR-15 utilizes a box magazine, and while ammunition is sometimes packaged onto 30 round stripper clips, these only serve to assist in rapid reloading of the box magazine with an associated and essential loading tool.
Our illustrious MSM and other experts need to get their terms AND facts straight. :-)

We're all assuming that the one with the 30 shots was the one that killed. And he would have gotten into a second clip.
But I thought I remember the kills were with the Glock. Could be wrong. Memory going...
How many spent shells were found? Thought I remember them saying some kids had multiple shots....like 5 or 6....
To: Uncle Chip
The M1Garand is the only gun that I know of that uses a clip and 30 rounds will not fit in the gun. Are these real police? I would hate to have them investigate anything. I have seen some 10 round stripper clips but these are just a holder and the rounds must be removed form the clip to be used as no gun that I know of fires out of a stripper clip.

I thought initial reports stated the Glock and the Sig-Sauer pistols were used in the killing and the Bushmaster was found in the car, unfired.

I forgot that SKS stripper clips DO actually hold 10 rounds. But the integral magazine of the weapon itself contains the rounds once loaded. Then the stripper clip can be discarded... unlike the M-1 Garand, which MUST employ the en-bloc clip to function. It ejects the clip once empty.
The MSM are idiots.
To: Noamie
I'd love to see a liberal use a "clip" in a handgun or rifle. Maybe we should require them to use clips. They would be impotent to do anything with the weapon but bash themselves over the head with it.

Also This:
Investigation Progresses:
"As the police probe has progressed, some facts of the case have become clear.
"According to a reliable local law enforcement source, Adam Lanza attempted to destroy all his computer equipment to prevent any tracing of his Internet usage and his electronic correspondence. It is thought that "some or most" of the computer data will be retrieved from the damaged equipment.
"The source confirmed that Lanza used a Bushmaster-brand military-style semiautomatic assault rifle to kill all victims at the school. Lanza also carried two pistols.
"Also, Lanza used a different rifle to kill his mother by firing four shots at her while she was in bed at home, according to the source. Adam Lanza left that rifle at Lanza residence.
"Also, Lanza shot more than 100 rounds and possibly hundreds of rounds of ammunition at the school, according to the source.
"Lanza was not wearing any "body armor" when the school incident occurred.
"A man with a gun who was spotted in the woods near the school on the day of the incident was an off-duty tactical squad police officer from another town, according to the source."

The 1903 Springfield (the standard USA battle weapon from WWI up to the beginning of WWII, when it was replaced by the M1 Garand) employed a five-round clip. In fact, the 1903 Springfield, as a surplus rifle, became a very common deer hunting rifle in civilian use (hell, when I was in the US Air Force, I belonged to the Rod & Gun Club on several of the bases on which I was stationed, and at one in Texas we used Club 1903s to hunt javelina). It was chambered in .30-06, as was the Garand.

ANY cop or police officer that says 'clip' when he means 'magazine' is NOT a real cop or police officer. Of any single person in this world, a cop or police officer is adamant about distinguishing clips versus mags as an everyday civilian would think of a pitcher vs. a glass.
QUESTION AUTHORITY.
To: IllumiNaughtyByNature
True enough. Not a ‘go to’ caliber for most folks.

SKS does as well, 10 rounds. Will knock the bark right off of your thumb if you don't do it right.A 10-round stripper clip can be used to load the SKS, into the fixed/box magazine.

five-round clip.
I always thought of them as a stripper clip as they never stayed in the gun but you had to strip the rounds out of them into the gun. Of course you could get in trouble for calling a rifle a gun as a gun was used on battleships and the artillery used guns also.

The ME stated the victims were all killed with the rifle. Lt. Vance has said that “hundreds” of rounds were fired, and the ME said there were between 3-11 wounds on the victims that he personally autopsied.
To: mountainlion
I hqce stripped clips for my Springfield M1A but, I can’t even feed 5rounds into the mag without the handy tool for breaking down my gun.
I tried over and over but gave up. You need some mists to fill an inserted mag off stripped clips.

Nope whoever said that was wrong. It was the feds according to news cites.
But that was wrong....and this is right.
Well we can all glean this much, feds don't know the difference between a Saiga 12ga and an AR 15 and according to this press release from the cops in Newtown they don't know the difference between a magazine and a clip.
Instills nothing but confidence in me, anyone got that pictur of Barney Fife? /s

You can be sure they have a list of every spent cartridge found on the school property. They know which firearms were used, but they did not indicate which were used. A bit odd as that additional information would be very informative regarding the ongoing efforts to criminalize self-defense.
