Excellent article.
Fine article. I favor A Well-Regulated Militia? as an interesting take on the meaning of the Second Amendment. It turns out that there is a preamble to the Bill of Rights, not normally quoted but passed by Congress. And the preamble emphasizes that these are amendments, meaning that portions of the original document are modified by it. The argument then is that mention of Militia in the Second Amendment refers to the (two) mentions of Militia in the unamended document . . . and ultimately to the argument that the people, armed, were a check on - a regulator of - the militia.
Great article, but it only means something to those who give a flying flip about the 2A or the Constitution. Preaching to the choir.

Maybe. But I sent it to my liberal Jewish colleague. Maybe she will read it.
That’s a VERY well written article! Thanks for posting it.
Though currently in lapse, I have been a JPFO member in the past, along with GOA and the more moderate NRA.
Also of interest is that this article (published in 2001) mentions the Emerson ruling as being under appeal. If I'm not mistaken, Emerson has since been fully validated and confirmed by none other than the US Supreme Court, and is therefore now established, governing judicial principle.
