Do you know who the “Clara Bell” is that Savage has been referring to on his show of late? I’ve heard him reference a “Clara Bell” a couple of times the past week in the same way he references Wallbanger or Histerics/Groucho. The last mention of “Clara Bell” I caught was a funny story of Clara Bell leading an “over the top bayonet charge” against the gun grabbers wearing a three corner hat.

I know most of Savage’s pet names for his rival hosts: that “Wallbanger” is Hannity, “Histerics(sp)” or “Groucho” is Levin, “The Golfer” is Limbaugh, “The Leprechaun(sp) is O’Reilly and “The Hemmeroid with Ears” is Beck, I’m just trying to figure out who “Clara Bell” is - thanks.

btw whatever happened to beck? he rallied over 1/2 a million people in DC for his “Restoring Honor” event

then a few months later fox fired him for low ratings (he didn’t have low ratings as far as I know) and he has revived on the internet but he has been marginalized to beat the band

re: savage and clarabell and all the others that diss each other, pure 100% theater-if you think women are drama queens these talkshowpeeps beat them by miles

Yes, I too now believe after reading your post that when Savage is talking about Clarabelle that he is indeed talking about Beck.

As for Beck leaving Fox, I believe that it may have been more of a mutual agreement that he leave. I believe that Beck was already getting his own news network up and running well before he left Fox. I believe they told him to tone down his rhetoric towards Obamaramadingdong and that was when he decided to split when his contract ran out.

You are right about Beck’s ratings at Fox, they were high for that time-slot right up till the time he left Fox. His network (Blaze TV) is now airing not only on the internet, but also on DISH TV. If he hits a certain viewership threshold on DISH TV, then other cable companies may decide to add his channel to their lineups.

I also agree that all the back and forth name calling between the hosts is all theater, but I am suprised that Cumulus puts up with it, considering both Levin and Savage are sindicated by them. It is common that sindicators DO NOT tolerate on-air feuds between their on-air talent or their bad mouthing one another on air (unless the sindicator feels that this “feud” may be a vehicle to drive up ratings for both as news of the “feud” spreads and people tune in just to hear what bad things they have to say about the other next).
