Pennsylvania girl, 5, suspended for threatening to shoot girl with pink toy gun that blows soapy bubbles

By Edmund DeMarche

A 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl who told another girl she was going to shoot her with a pink Hello Kitty toy gun that blows soapy bubbles has been suspended from kindergarten.

Her family has hired an attorney to fight the punishment, which initially was 10 days for issuing a 'terroristic threat.' But her punishment was reduced to two days after her mother met with school officials and had the incident dropped to 'threatening to harm another student,' which apparently carries a lesser punishment.

"It's laughable," Robin Ficker, the girl's attorney told FoxNews.com. "This is a girl who had no idea about killing or what happened in Connecticut."

Educators, going to school for stupid and then prcticing their craft to perfection.

Something to think on: Low Information Voters -- A Public School Success Story.

This got punished worse than F&F, that’s damned sure (I mean it literally, F&F was from the devil, and so are overreactions like this).

Not necessarily - most of the low information voters I know attended the same all girl Catholic High School I did, or similar type private school.

Why of course it was a silencer; we can’t be alerting everybody and must hush the bubbles that normally go bang bang!

Well the old “you can lead a horse to water, but” adage seems to apply here.

Good reply...

too many folks have forgotten that incident...as for this family, they need to sue that entire school system...I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and retired here, and now we are making plans to relocate to Georgia and it can't come soon enough...this State is becoming a laughing stock.

How wrong we were to think a Republican Governor would improve the State..He was a mistake..

One might wonder why even bother to sue... it would take dozens of suits to force some sense on them. Home school if possible, or go private, or try to move to a saner neighborhood.

Young girl, excites about her pretty bubble blower, naturally wants to share the excitement with friends, and is condemned as a potential killer. How can we showcase this to supplement those who keep repeating that it’s not right to punish 80 million law-abiding People for the crimes a a minority of democrat voters?

I have one (5’8’’- used to be little) and I can say I bring her to the home of particular friends with boys who, reluctantly, as boys are wont to, include her in nerf gun wars.

She says it makes them crazy when she gets a head or chest shot in.

It amazes me how they can all run around the house sometimes breaking stuff even and NEVER come near hitting the mom.

Why don’t these people watch Band of Brothers? It was made by their heroes, (that would be Spielberg & Hanks, as opposed to Winters and Ambrose & Ike). If tey would watch this it might (right) creep into their consciousness that these guys knew how to shoot because they grew up shooting.

We won’t even get into Jung’s plausible theory regarding proper sex identification and the handling of weaponry by growing boys.

Girls are different. They just need to know how to shoot like they need to know how to build a fire. Not too much.

your right...

courts are stocked with obama judges any way...I would most definitely move to a new system or as you said, home school..so glad my two kids are now adults and neither one wants kids in today's crazy world...and I can't argue with that...
both my kids were so much joy and fun to have, but the world is changing so rapidly, so very scary...

I kind of have a soft spot in my heart for tomboys (now lezzies are a whole ‘nother thing, they are abomination). Modern women may not have as much occasion as modern men to want to build fires, but that’s because modern technology has harnessed energy to their beck and call, with modern stoves and microwaves and furnaces with thermostats and the like. But in this evil world, some shooting is good to know about. The menfolk might not always be there on the spot.

I don’t believe in forcing anybody about their choices in children, from none to dozens and to octomoms, but I must insist on saying that demographic suicide is not a charming option. If the sane people go celibate but the welfare ho’s keep on peopling the street who is going to win? Children are not for us, nor for the children; they are for God in a definite contest of good versus evil.

Exactly. No, she lets the boys be boys. We like boys around here.
It takes a lot of balancing to know just when to let them win and when it’s okay to drop them with one to the chest.

Girls have to be able to take a lot of, “no, you gotta. . .” and just have fun with it and maybe learn a little.

Play of that kind, cops vs. robbers etc., lets children explore various scenarios of life in a harmless environment. Sane kids will conclude, after all the play, that being a robber is not the way to go in the real world — and they will despise real robbers as they should.

At any rate I hope your tomboy grows up to find her man and that Cupid shoots them both through the heart (so to speak, symbolically).
