Rand Paul: Obama in guns-to-jihadists cover-up?

'A kind of international Fast and Furious in Benghazi'

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., raised questions during a radio interview today about whether the Obama administration was smuggling guns to jihadist rebels in a possible “international Fast and Furious” that the White House has tried to cover up.

Speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s WABC Radio, Paul said the guns scheme could help explain the reason for the coordinated attacks against the U.S. special mission and CIA annex in Benghazi last September.

Stated Paul: “There is also some concern about whether or not Libyan arms are being ferried through Turkey into Syrian rebels and whether or not that had something to do with the cover-up that came out of the administration when the administration was saying that, ‘Oh, this attack in Benghazi had something to do with a film.’

“Maybe that was to cover up that there was some kind of gun smuggling going on over there, some kind of international fast and furious was going on in Libya and that this was a cover-up,” Paul continued. “These are some of the questions that we are going to have for Hillary Clinton when she comes before our committee.

“I am very concerned about the president giving arms to Syrian rebels,” Paul told Klein.

The politician, who will serve on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the U.S.-backed rebels in Syria include jihadists tied to al-Qaida.

“There’s about a million Christians in Syria, one of the largest populations of Christians are in Syria. They are not necessarily siding with the rebels because many of the rebels are extremist radical Islamists such as Al-Nusra elements of al-Qaida. And there is concern that the Christians will not be tolerated, will be wiped out if the rebels win,” Paul said.

'A kind of international Fast and Furious in Benghazi'

I may be a bit confused or daft... but isn't an operation giving guns to straw-buyers to take to Mexico and allowing them to do so, by definition, international?

Rand Paul may be an imperfect vessel, but he’s as good as we’ve got in the Senate right now...

From an e-mail I got this morning. We need to get to the bottom of this and so much more of what this (so called) president is doing.

Subject: They earned their trident

AMERICAN VALOR

BENGHAZI : The stunning part of this story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction. Just think how much could have been accomplished if they had the support of their Commander-in-Chief.
The news has been full of the attacks on our embassies throughout the Muslim world, and in particular, the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi , Libya . However, apart from the shameful amount of disinformation willingly distributed by the Main Stream Media and the current administration, there’s a little known story of incredible bravery, heroics, and courage that should be the top story of every news agency across the fruited plain.
So what actually happened at the U.S. embassy in Libya ? We are learning more about this every day. Ambassador Stevens and Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, along with administrative staff, were working out of temporary quarters due to the fact that in the spring of 2011 during the so-called Arab Spring, the United States cut ties with then president Moammar Gadhafi. Our embassy was looted and ransacked, causing it to be unusable. It is still in a state of disrepair. Security for embassies and their personnel is to be provided by the host nation. Since Libya has gone through a civil war of sorts in the past 18 months, the current government is very unstable, and therefore, unreliable
A well-organized attack by radical Muslims was planned specifically targeting the temporary U.S. embassy building. The Libyan security force that was in place to protect our people deserted their post, or joined the attacking force. Either way, our people were in a real fix. And it should be noted that Ambassador Stevens had mentioned on more than one occasion to Secretary of State, “Hillary Clinton”, that he was quite concerned for his personal safety and the welfare of his people. It is thought that Ambassador Stevens was on a “hit list.”
A short distance from the American compound, two Americans were sleeping. They were in Libya as independent contractors working an assignment totally unrelated to our embassy. They also happened to be former Navy SEALs. When they heard the noise coming from the attack on our embassy, as you would expect from highly trained warriors, they ran to the fight. Apparently, they had no weapons, but seeing the Libyan guards dropping their guns in their haste in fleeing the scene, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty snatched up several of these discarded weapons and prepared to defend the American compound.
Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two SEALs set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.
As it became apparent to these selfless heroes, they were definitely going to lose their lives unless some reinforcements showed up in a hurry. As we know now, that was not to be. I’m fairly certain they knew they were going to die in this gun fight, but not before they took a whole lot of bad guys with them!
Consider these tenets of the Navy SEAL Code: 1) Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate, 2) Serve with Honor and Integrity On and Off the Battlefield, 3) Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit, 4) Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates, 5) Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation, 6) Train for War, Fight to Win, Defeat our Nation’s Enemies, and 7) Earn your Trident every day ( http://www.navyseals.com/seal-code-warrior-creed).
Thank you, Tyrone and Glen. To the very last breath, you both lived up to the SEAL Code. You served all of us well. You were courageous in the face of certain death.
And Tyrone, even though you never got to hold your newborn son, he will grow up knowing the character and quality of his father, a man among men who sacrificed himself defending others. God bless America !
Dr. Charles R. Roots Senior Pastor Former Staff Sergeant, USMC Captain, U. S. Navy Chaplain Corps (Ret)
This should be passed on and on and on.
NO TRUE AMERICAN WOULD OBJECT TO RECEIVING THIS MORE THAN ONCE ...SO PASS IT ON
THEY GAVE ALL THEY HAD TO GIVE...

Word about the weapons smuggling came out immediately after the attack. No one talked about it in the U.S., so it was short lived. I remember reading about it. The ambassador, if I remember correctly, was trying to find out how the weapons ended up in the wrong hands?
Odd. General Petraeus, who would have known everything, was quickly silenced, too. If he remains quiet, they'll let him skate. If not, he broke military laws. How convenient.
It had to have come from the foreign media, because our media would never print news that would offend our Führer.

The military was told to stand down rather than try to save the ambassitor. I'd like to know who gave that order. Who told everyone to back off while these guys were getting slaughtered?

I am also concerned with the potential for violence against Christians but what really concerns me is the way Rand Paul evokes the Fast and Furious program as a comparison. It's as though Fast and Furious is accepted by the political class as having happened without there being any repercussions. Obviously, Paul knows F&F happened the way we know it happened and no one is doing anything about it.

Nothing will ever be done about F&F because it was a CIA op.

The more I read about this guy “Ben Gazi” the more I think it was a setup for a hostager exchange that went wrong because they (the scheme-er in chief) didn’t count onthe Heroic actions of the Woods and Doherty. This caused the mob to think they were betrayed which led them to kill amb stevens..

My thought is this ... Who would need the CIA to run weapons to syria, when the people zer0 supported to overthrow libya could run the weapons to the rebels in syria? Just a thought.

Us talking about it and Rand Paul referring to it as accepted fact are two different things. Especially when his proclamation isn't followed up with any call for action against those who set the F&F wheels in motion.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., raised questions

EVERYONE is raising QUESTIONS about EVERYTHING the Obozo gang perpetrates.

It's the INABILITY for things to PROGRESS beyond the "raising questions" point that has us pissing into the wind.

"If things don't CHANGE they'll stay the SAME."

If you figure out how to keep things from remaining the same would you share that information? Congress, or rather the majority in congress, is perfectly satisfied the way things are. Going nowhere fast in congress. zer0 has his people in places of law enforcement to cover this up and stay any type of arrests. The lamestream-drive-bys? ... they work for the zer0 moslem crowd. This is not your fault, it is not my fault. Each of us is as frustrated as you. Stay Safe, FRiends.
