On August 1, 2009--just seven months into President Barack Obamas first term--former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin predicted Obama would attempt to leverage health care to "take away" the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
In a speech to National Rifle Association members in Anchorage, Alaska, Palin said Americans should be wary of this tie-in because Obama would attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan:
And by the way, [with] health care being so big in D.C. right now, be wary when some kind of tie-in occurs. Because it will crop up: a tie-in with guns in an attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan. You know that this is coming--that the two issues will somehow crop up and they'll be tied together. So we have to be very wary of that.

It appears that Sara Palin was not nearly as stupid as Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol said she was.
Sarah Palin has more leadership and courage than Joan of Arc, Thatcher or the Elizabethan queen. But Sarahs beauty is many times greater than of those women and her understanding of freedom and conservatism makes her far above these women of history
Is she up to them?
The GOP is scared to death of Sarah.
Any crooked politician fears an honest politician and will try to destroy them.
It appears that Sara Palin was not nearly as stupid as Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol said she was.
Bill Kristol is dumber than a bag of hammers or a box of Bill Kristols...
Palin had Obama’s number from the beginning. And because she was one of the only figures to be unapologetically vocal about it during those early days of Obama, she was made to endure a media hellstorm of intense demonization. All while her supposed GOP “allies” cowered about, continued to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, and told her “she should leave the room.”
A final kick-in-the-face? Not even allowed into the GOP convention.
And Gov Palin is correct once again.
Hammers are useful, Kristol is not.
what tasks?
Box of Bill Kristols? I think I’ve used those to clean my downstairs toilet a time or two...
A final kick-in-the-face? Not even allowed into the GOP convention.”
She has been treated so shabily by MSM and especially GOPe. Totally disgusting. Remember also she was not allowed to speak at the “I give up, Obama WON” in 2008, just McLaim. I again, will NEVER, ever forgive the GOP/McLaim for that low class action.
Sarah has the Spirit of God within her. The others do not. She knows things all the others do not. Evil hates goodness.
Reagan famously warned against what can be wrapped up inside of “healthcare”, when run by the state.
It was definitively called socialism.
When Hillary tried it, Reagan’s words rose again to haunted her efforts.
This conclusion against state mandated health care is no new revelation. Even Reagan had to lift the obvious from somewhere. He knew communism and its threat very well.
Communism has been fought in this country before, and also Hollywood.
Oops, still on my cell keyboard here.
I meant to add that ALL constitutional rights & the Bill of Rights can safely be undone, under “Healthcare”. Just pull any issue of the day, say for example, religious freedom, and that also can be “managed”, under the auspice of “healthcare”.
It is a good thing for pundits and pols to clarify, and I am glad Sarah did.
Was it an entirely original thought? It shouldn’t be, given our historic understanding of healthcare and socialism.
Proving that in spite of all they say the so called Dems and Repubs are cut from the same cloth and want the same thing...POWER over the people they are supposed to represent. They are ALL crooked traitors. It is the natural evolution of government from freedom to oppression.
Google: "Liverpool Care controversy" to get an idea of how a national health care system works in UK.
Here's a good example
He is a lucky one ...as he was not put on the Liverpool Pathway (to death)
Absolutely. Just touch on some of the list:
Freedom of assembly - contagion and communicable disease issues.
Freedom of religion - contagion, communicable disease issues, and look for some "study" that shows "people in organized religions" likely to harbor mental disorders for their faith.
Freedom of speech/the press - "dangerous, thought-provoking speech" could lead to violent, unhealthy behavior.
Right to bear arms - we're seeing this in action today...danger and physical harm lurking everywhere with this.
Freedom from unlawful search and seizure - "comrades, your houses must be searched for unhealthy and unauthorized items, dangerous flooring which could cause accidents, unsafe breathing air, fattening and unhealthy sugary drinks...etc."
Freedom from incriminating one's self - unless the HHS starts issuing "directives" about how one must behave (in a manner that "promotes health"), and that doctors routinely collect and submit data about patients.
It only gets worse from there...
