Most Americans dont know this but then this is a country that did reelect Obama that Dear Ruler was sworn in for his second term yesterday. The Constitution says hes to be sworn in on the 20th, and thats probably the only part of the Constitution that Obama wants to stringently adhere to. But there was a grand opportunity for Obama --- he could delay the inauguration until today, the day of the official holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. After all! How could he resist! I would love to see someone figure out how much it cost the taxpayers to have this ceremony today rather than putting on the big Charlie Foxtrot yesterday, but I cant see anyone in the ObamaMedia corps doing that.
My first tweet this morning read thusly:
"No plans to watch any news channel or program today. All about Dear Ruler's inauguration. Like watching a loved one being raped."
I’d rather rub salt and alcohol into bleeding hemorrhoids with an SOS pad than watch the coronation.
Since I am not watching my TV today will someone inform me of a few facts.
He was sworn in yesterday, do they do a fake swear in today in front of the Capitol, and then march down Pa. Ave.
Did they build the usual stands for the fake swear in?
Who (here) could stomach that anyway?
Isnt this just a retread of 8 years ago without the hope?
You’ll probably be able to hear the 0 worshipping media kissing his butt without even turning on the TV.
Dunno and don't care.
Tune into Steyn, the guy filling in for Rush. On a gloomy day he is funny.
Watching the news drool and grovel can cause your head to explode. Instead, in honor of our fearless leader, burn a few hundred rounds of your precious ammo.
Wow, you're tough! I agree though. I'm not watching any news today - maybe for the next few days just in case the communist media is still salivating over the enshrining.
I'd rather have it available to burn for a purpose.
Only watched for a few seconds. Obama had his head up his a$$, Michelle looked liked she had a cold sore, oldest daughter kept quiet, youngest showed no discipline, grandma wore horrible peach color.
The lettering is nearly worn off of my mute button. Another 4 years will probably do it in.
I record 90% of what I watch and FF when BHO comes on the screen.....I care nothing about what he has to say. I also will not watch any of his coronation!!!
I do likewise.
As I was being admitted, two nurses were standing in front of the TV on the wall watching the inauguration on CNN.
Another nurse came in to start her shift and asked the other two, "What's going on?"
"It's the inauguration." replied one of the other nurses.
"Oh. I thought it was something bad."
I piped up and said, none too quietly, "It is".
Nurse Number 3 turned to me and said, "No...I meant like a car accident or a fire."
I replied, "Well, it's a train wreck if that's what you mean."
No one said anything but they looked at me with that 'deer-in-the-headlights' look.
I stood there looking at them with eyebrows raised, waiting for any sort of reply, but they just turned back to the TV and continued watching.
I just shook my head and went back to answering the receptionist's questions.
not watching either
I’ve been listening to Bluegrass Junction on Sirius every since I got up this morning.
I was listening to Steyn today and had to turn off my radio when they broke to upchuck shummer and the events in DC.
Rev James David Manning strongly suggested that we send a message to the media by not turning on the television at ALL DAY/NIGHT on Inauguration Day.
Yes it is on the radio during the news portion
“Id rather rub salt and alcohol into bleeding hemorrhoids with an SOS pad than watch the coronation.”
Isn’t that the new prescribed treatment according to page 14,657 of the Affordable Health Care Act??? ;)
I hear you though!!! I have no TV on today; no radio. Took a peaceful albeit cold walk here in northeast Ohio. Trusting in God that this will somehow all make sense.
My husband and I were hanging wallpaper, but the movie “Quo Vadis” was on, so we were listening to it. A noteworthy quote:
[on being told the Christians are being blamed for the burning of Rome]
Vinicius: The people won’t believe such a lie!
Petronius: But they are believing it. People will believe any lie, if it is fantastic enough. (IMDB)
Some of those old movies really resonate today...at least to those who understand what a republic is and why the loss of one would be so tragic.
I hit the “ignore” button on day 1 of the first chapter of this long national nightmare.
today, I inventoried my ammo stash. seemed appropriate on this, Obamanation version of May Day.
I refuse to watch the sick spectacle of a communist dick-tator being inaugurated (again) at the Whore House. FUBO is only the symptom of a terminally stupid people. I have no president and pretty soon will have no country.
Watching the Alamo? Switched to TCM but they are showing Raisin in the Sun. Hmmm... They belong in my cereal.
I watched it with my son many years ago. He cried when John Wayne was run through and through. I probably did to when I was his age. I’ve never seen him cry again.
practice practice, make each one count.
That is so appropriate. I feel sad today that the country is no longer the country I lived in for all of my long years. Everything has changed, even clocks:
A few days ago I saw a picture of a wind up clock. Dawned on me if power was out for a while (which it always is after a hurricane through here), I don't have a single clock that doesn't need a battery or be plugged in the wall.
I started researching wind up clocks. When did wind up clocks become trash? When they all started being made in China. We have “progressed” to the point wind up clocks are trash. They cost between $7-mid 20s and are made of plastic in China. Customer comments are the clock stops after a short while, days if it works when they get it) and they throw it away and buy another and keep doing that.
If power is out I don't want to use a battery in a clock when more important items need batteries. I searched for two days and finally found a wind up clock that is dependable. One has to leave China to get a decent clock:
Sternreiter wind up alarm clock made in Europe. Available for $54.95 at Amazon with free shipping. It's made of all metal parts outside and inside. On their website it says you can pass this clock down to your grandchildren because it will still work.
America can't even make a wind up clock that is dependable. How can we exist here if we can't even do that? This clock thing was the last straw on top of trying to save our guns. I need an adult beverage right about now.
It’s on AMC channel.
His election is a symptom of the degeneration of the American soul!
The dumbing of America as well.
Going to have some biscuits and mustard, uh hu.
Like listening to a family member being raped.
0 represents the absolute antithesis of everything I believe in. The english language does not have a word to describe the depth of my loathing for him, his accomplices, and his supporters.
I'm pretty good now - limiting factor is my eyesight which has not improved with age.
How can you tell when he's lying? His lips move.
I stopped by my sister’s home and she and her husband were watching it, I told them I would come back another day and left.
No it doesn’t. I’ve found scopes and red dot sights work well but you can’t always use them. I also put flat white paint on my front sights if they are black.
I have bifocals and have to cant my head back just right for the sights to be in focus.
I was driving for 6 hours this morning and just got home. So, haven’t had to listen to his irritating staccato voice and have no plans on turning on the idiot box today.
Or, as another Freeper put it, "Dependence Day."
?? No what doesn't?
Pardon the ambiguity.
I'm understanding more and more why Elvis had to get a new tv.
Took my daughter to lunch . Moes had it on the TV I put my back to it and enjoyed my lunch with my lovely girl. Now I’m watching the Alamo.
AH I understand. Cataracts and the beginnings of macular degeneration tend to limit accuracy
I’ve long since quit listening to the news on TV and Radio. There’s hardly a spits worth of difference between parties and they all can’t wait to get to a microphone to lie about something. As for television news, it’s mostly the same; lying about lies. No facts, just agenda.
I listen to the Dana Show sometimes when I drive, otherwise I read online and form my own opinions. If I have the TV on in the evening, I watch shows where I might hear something witty and intelligent like King of Queens. (Irony in case you’re wondering..)
