Both parades are expecting a large turnout and organizers say they hope to unify, not divide, the people of Houston in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.

"With both parades at the same time, I believe that Dr. King is just giving people as many ways as possible to unite in celebration of him," McPherson said. "It's like he's still bringing the people together."
