An inaugural official told reporters that "at least" 1 million people were on the National Mall for President Obama's swearing-in ceremony.

If the figure is accurate, a crowd of around 1 million would put attendance at about 55 percent of the 2009 crowd. The city of Washington, D.C., estimated that 1.8 million people packed the Mall last time to watch Obama get sworn in for his first term.

BS. There was not a million on Mall. Obama’s propagandists are trying to inflate crowd size. It was probably 500,000 or so.

It was probably less than half, this time around. Many of the government employees would have been required to attend this time around.

I just avoided tv today. I think I have only listed to Obama on two occasions for more than a couple of minutes.

1. The Bin Laden is dead announcement
2. The First debate where I only could stomach about half the debate. I just listened to excerpts for the other two debates.

So, I will read some stuff, but I won’t listen to it if I can avoid it.

Everyone knows that the second inaugural is ALWAYS lower attended. My goodness Reagan was lucky to have 20 people at his due to the weather.

RE: Crowd shrinks by nearly half for 2nd inaugural

Just goes to show the uncanny and tremendous adulation Obama had in 2009. He was treated like someone with godlike qualities and he responded in kind ( “Heal the planet, stop the rise of the oceans” ). Remember the fainting at his speeches and Chris Matthews’ tingle up his leg?

Well, his mythical status has sort of dissipated somewhat BUT NOT COMPLETELY. Nearly one million today is still a SIZABLE crowd. Huge number of Americans are still naive believers.

Even during the 2012 general elections, Obama lost over 8 million votes from 2008, but still managed to beat Romney comfortably. It will take an economic and military disaster of major proportions to destroy the myth of our “Lord and Savior” ( to qopte Jaimie Foxx ), Barack Obama.

A million? Hell, we had more than that at our Obamacare protest and we had to pay our own way!

I heard that on our ABC affiliate today. Not sure I believe it--I heard that there were available hotel rooms in the DC area over the weekend.

They are more legit that an administration official telling the media it is a million.
