Russia to outlaw 'homosexual propaganda' and ban public events that promote gay rights.
Dailymail ^ | 21 January 2013 | Sarah Johnson

A public kiss between two men could be defined as illegal 'homosexual propaganda' and bring a fine of up to £10,000 if a bill that comes up for a first vote this month becomes law in Russia.

The legislation being pushed by the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church would make it illegal to tell minors information that is defined as ‘propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism.’

It includes a ban on holding public events that promote gay rights.

1. flat tax rate
2. publicly acknowledge socialism / communism doesn’t work
3. too many women
and now
4. no homo agenda

ok... if they adopt the US Constitution and the bill of rights (which wouldn’t shock me as I’m now living in bizarro world)... I’m gonna have some serious pondering to do.

because the US is becoming less and less American every day... and Russia .. well...

It wasn’t the Russians that were the problem, it was the Communist ideology. It’s the ideology that is evil. Transport it here to the U.S. en masse and it is just as vile.

If you ignore annoying problems like the bureaucracy and corrupt police, etc. the "American Dream" is probably more alive in Russia than in the USA right now.

Case in point: my in-laws. They are Armenian by blood, and moved from their home in Soviet Azerbaijan to southern Russia in 1987 as refugees during the war that was going on at the time. To summarize a long, complicated story, the Azeri guy in charge of the town threatened that any Armenians who didn't leave within the week would be shot...they have to leave everything; house, possessions, everything stayed behind. My wife was two years old, and her Mom was pregnant with her sister.

Fast forward to today: despite having no college education, they now have two stores, own their *house* (not apartment like many Russians) outright, and regularly travel to Moscow and Istanbul to buy inventory for the stores, relaxation, etc. Their daughter (my wife) lives with me in the USA and has a B.S. from Rutgers University. They have no debt, and comparatively, live better than your average American middle class family.

Tell me how likely this story is in America today.

You can learn the Cyrillic alphabet very rapidly, and you would probably speak the language acceptably within 6 months if you lived there and spent a little time studying.

Also, everyone forgets that Russia has a huge region in the south, on the Black Sea. The weather there is much more temperate than Moscow (where everyone gets their ideas of Russian winter). In fact, this morning, my mother-in-law was talking about how unseasonably warm is it today (~60F, Krasnodar Region).

Add to that the fact that they just eliminated all income tax for small businesses (other than their equivalent of SS), and are laying off a good portion of their tax agents.

(At least in Krasnodar where my in-laws live.)

“2. publicly acknowledge socialism / communism doesn’t work”

More than that - they MAKE their kids read some serious books that detail the horrors of Communism.

We give Putin a lot of crap on this site, but when he made “One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich” (which details life in the Gulag, in great detail) required reading, I knew they had zoomed by us on the road to having a strong society.

Putin understands power and he understands the political power the big, rich gay-and-lesbian organizations have gained here in the US.

He’s not about to let them have that kind of power. In some ways the gay and lesbian organizations here are kingmakers, with the influence they have with TV. they can make or break politicians by their portrayal on TV.

That’s why politicians kiss up to them, sign bills that empower them. It’s really a kind of extortion racket.

He’s not going to hand that kind of organizing and political power over to them.

It’s about that as much as it is about two guys kissing.

I attended an elementary school which regularly practiced “nuclear bomb drills.” We would kneel down in the hallways by our lockers with our hands over our heads. This was to prevent the rubble caused by the bombs from suffocating us. In my wildest, wildest imagination, I would have NEVER dreamed that 50 years later the Russians would be building the society upon which freedoms could be enjoyed, while ours would be crumbing at breakneck speed. The communists are burying us, just like Kruschev predicted, not with building rubble, but by the traitors in our own country who are enabling them.

Amerika has replaced Russia as the kingdom of socialism, communism, sit on thy butt ism, homosexualism, and a president who has damned America to the judgment that God will bring for turning our backs on Him. It is simple folks, repentance is the only, THE ONLY WAY that America has any chance. But, sadly, I fear that is never going to be.

Why does people think that guns are outlawed in Russia?

Handguns are really very limited there, as for shotguns and rifles they can own a variety of pieces prohibited in US as assault weapons.

Aside from all that, I believe that the Russians *still* do this to some extent. It is also interesting to note that all 7th grade Russian children have to learn how to strip and reassemble an AK-47. The boys even have to go practice shooting them.

I about fell off of my chair when my wife proceeded to field-strip, check, and reassemble my brother's semi-auto AK-47 when he showed it to her at one of her first visits with my family.

The NAZIs persecuted the fem homosexuals, or rather, the NAZI butches persecuted the fems. When the homosexuals got too powerful within the government and were acquiring that power independent of Hitler he responded with the “Night of the Long Knives.” and killed off that batch.

BTW, we have a fantastic screenplay about the founding of Armenia, called “East of Byzantium.” It’s designed as a four-part tv dramatic miniseries, and is very good. One of the matte designers/special effects artists of “Lord of the Rings” is involved in it.

Under Soviets it was an obligatory “NVP” classes. NVP stands as an abbreviation for “basic pre-Army training”. They had AKs, dummy grenades of different types and training RPG units as a standard school gym equipment. School stadiums had short trenches. In order to graduate a secondary school, along with a math and history kids had to pass GTO (abbreviation for “ready for labor and defence”) exam. Along with a satisfactory shooting they had to perform a mock grenade attack on tank from this trench (from about 60 ft away right to a small target mocking an engine section behind a tank turret).
In 1990s these classes were mostly abolished and soon reinstituted as OBJ (basic survival classes). Today they are mostly taught self-defence, prepping or handling natural and man-made disasters. There is a shooting training as part of OBJ but most school has no firearms left so they are using BB-guns or haul children to Army bases if they have it nearby.
Older kids at the age of 14 to 17 can visit optional parachute jump lessons thus it often require little pay from parents.

Earlier they had a popular military games for kids like “Zarnitza” - a flag hunting team game using military tactics, “Fox Hunt” - for kids as young as ten who used their radio skills to locate and deactivate transmitters hidden in a woods.
