Ruger has decided not to attend the upcoming Eastern Sports Show. We are very frustrated by Reed Exhibitions’ foolish decision to ban the display of modern sporting rifles.
We feel that, as one of America’s firearms manufacturers, we must withdraw from the show as a commitment to the 2nd Amendment rights of our customers.

Thank you Ruger, even though I picked up a 10/22 takedown last week, I think I’ll pick up another one this week.
Just bought the wife an LC9 for Christmas.
It was even autographed!
My 10/22 take down is now one of my favorite guns (from my cold dead hands libs) and now I am looking at the Ruger Scout for my next gun. Would love to see Ruger come out with an AR in .308, the original design by Stoner.

And the scope mounts. I loaded to .41 special though. Shooting the mags just beat my fingers and wrist up too much.

Perhaps Ruger, Cabelas, et al might consider sponsoring their own outdoor show.
North/South Carolina? Virginia? Georgia?
I bet it could be bigger than the ESOS.
This represents a big $$$ commitment on their part, and on the part of all that have pulled out. By this time, as close to the show as we are, they are eating alot of money to pull out, without having the income from the show to offset the up-front costs.
It is very unlikely they will get the money back for their booth space, they have already spent money prepping the booth and exhibit materials, booking flights and hotels rooms etc., which may or may not be refundable depending on specific conditions, and their internal people have spent time preparing exhibits, producing print materials, and conducting various marketing efforts related to the show, some of which may be reusable, some not.
And as was mentioned, some vendors, maybe not specifically Ruger, but certainly the more local Mom and Pops, stand to lose significant revenues for the year by backing out of the show.
Check the list and support who you can in your area that pulled out, as well as the bigger companies like Ruger, et al that stood up to the exhibit company/promoters PC supplicating decision.
I have a bunch of Rugers including 10/22, Blackhawk, Mark II and, one of my favorites, a PC-9 that I got just before they went out of production.
I liked mine better when the scope was removed.

I still don’t understand the non refundable part of the event agreement. If the promoter changes the rules where you can’t bring a percentage of your legal product how is it still a valid contract?
This is just the sort of behavior it takes to get me to consider my self imposed ban on Roger since the old man made a deal on the 10 round magazine limit with Sarah Brady. Too bad they didn’t do something before I filled that .380 niche.
Here’s hoping that this show is practically deserted excepting reporters and lunatic lawmakers like Representative Morrissey of Virginia. Perhaps there will be someone demonstrating how the sling swivel on an AR-15 functions as a bayonet lug.
Been looking at the LC9 and the Kahr PM9 for a smaller carry. The Kahr’s a bit pricey but I don’t want to sacrifice quality for price. Any thoughts after shooting the LC9 for a while?

I hear what you’re saying. That’s why I said an LCP, as that’s the only thing I’ve still seen available in the local gun shop. But with my luck, even that will be gone tomorrow (there were two there yesterday).
Just bought myself a Ruger 10/22 carbine and mounted a Simmons 32mm scope on it. Beautiful gun. I can’t wait to get it outside to sight it in properly and punch a few holes at a distance.
Looks like Savage continues to plan to exhibit there, unless I missed some news or a comprehensive list. Sad.

Glad I bought Ruger stock. It has gone up $10.00 a share since I purchased it in December. Guess I should get one of their guns now.

Bill Ruger died some time ago. They been making 30 rd mags for a while.
Good gun for the intended purpose. I bought one last month and one this month. I'll be taking them with me tomorrow when I go to the lake for some fishing! I sure hope I don't have an accident.

Hehehehe, I've got one of those, too (SR1911). Tritium night sights and a Crimson Trace w/chain mail grips. Beautiful and shoots great. Hits where you aim out to 50 yds!.
Good for them. Looks like I will go ahead and get that Single Six I’ve been thinking about for a while.
