A shooting at a Houston college has left at least three people injured and at least one suspect in custody, The New York Times and other media sources reported today.
“Officials at the North Harris campus of Lone Star College announced an evacuation at 12:52 p.m. on its Web site, citing an incident involving ‘a couple of armed suspects,’” the report elaborated.
The suspects were in violation of Lone Star College policy and the law.
It is the policy of this System to prohibit the carrying of firearms, knives and clubs onto any of the System's facilities,” the college’s weapons policy states. “The possession of firearms, illegal knives and prohibited knives on System facilities including parking areas and publicly accessed facilities is a violation of criminal law and Board policies. This prohibition includes licensed concealed handguns except as otherwise allowed by state law.

That tells you that the purpose of more gun laws is ultimately to disarm the American public that is LAW ABIDING. Those are the people that the evil DemoRats fear. And that ultimately was the whole purpose of the Second Amendment. To permit the citizenry to protect itself against a corrupt and oppressive government -— not mentally sick nutjobs.

“It is the policy of this System to prohibit the carrying of firearms, knives and clubs onto any of the System’s facilities,” Gosh a couple of things come to mind, I guess baseball would be prohibited since a bat is just a club, no golf, art classes would be affected, no meals in the cafeteria that require more than a spoon or fork. These rules are ridiculous and I am sure they are violated every day. I am willing to bet that most of the male students and probably a fair number of thew females carry a knife every day. I carried a knife with a five inch blade every day in high school even when banned in the seventies.

Well I have to assume so since they interviewed one of the staffers and in the background was some clown with his pants on the ground making gang signs at the camera.
I've asked the "more gun laws" liberals "Is it reasonable to say the perp is one who makes his living by breaking laws?" When they say "yes", I ask, "Then why do you think passing another law will deter him?". At first there's a deer-in-headlights reaction, and when they can't think of anything else, they say "Oh you damn conservatives just want to kill people." and stomp off.
I think the problem is that the “Gun Free School Zone” signs are not bi-lingual.
Come on Texas, let’s get with it - the ONLY WAY to effectively keep guns out is to make the rules understandable to EVERYONE.

You’re on to something here. Maybe if the sign said “Gat Free Zone” it would have made a difference.
In the coverage I saw all the kids were Amish, so it is not unexpected that their culture is represented on campus. Strength through diversity.
Please. Two adult males got in an argument, one pulled a gun so did the other one. Gunfire exchanged. One janitor nearby shot in the leg by an errant bullet. Another student had a medical emergency at the same time. One of the original two took a bullet to the crotch. Libs want to badly to make this into another school shooting.
Most of the people who attend this community college can be separated into two groups: One group is there because their parents gave them a second chance to prove they could act like adults which they couldn’t do at a four year college. The other group are adults who didn’t go to college at all, went out in the work force and are now working and getting a degree.
Both shooters are reported to be in custody - race not yet mentioned, Actually a pretty good community college.
