Hart\ford Courant ^ | January 22, 2013 | JON LENDER

A gun-control group Tuesday issued the toughest proposals yet for new Connecticut restrictions on firearms after the Dec. 14 Newtown school massacre.

The measures include annual renewals of pistol permits, a ban on ammunition magazines holding more than seven bullets, and a requirement that all assault weapons be destroyed rather than "grandfathered" so current owners can keep theirs.

The commie libs love to tell other people what they can and can’t do. The nanny state sure is a real PITA. I don’t think we’re in the land of the free anymore, Toto.

again with the taking without compensation.

this no inheritance clause is a taking of property of ones estate.

it would be no different that the government taking the ability for children to inherit a house or money.

Connecticut USED to be the consitution state.

now it seems these komisars have no clue about rights or the law.

When murderers, thieves, and rapists find out that they have to get permits and renew them every year, they will be all too eager to comply.

The tyrants are clever. They will allow people to keep certain weapons, but when the current owners die, the weapons cannot be bequeathed to their heirs. They are patient.

They have not proposed anything to take guns away from violent criminals! This is deliberate and intentional. The left wants to take guns from honest, law-abiding non-violent citizens and leave them in the hands of criminals.

It is done with full knowledge and awareness.

I can guarandamntee you that if this ever becomes law, the VAST majority of these so called assault weapons will simply "disappear" sometime between the death of the owner and they time the local functionary comes to pick them up. In every family there is a least one person who just doesn't give a flip about the law says and is either going to just take the gun for their own or too sell on the black market.

Unconstitutional, tyrannical, and the very reason for the 2nd Amendment.

You want to make me a criminal? You got it! You think the criminals care or will comply with your "law"?

See how tyranny first begets anarchy?

To all CT gun manufacturers....tell the state that if they pass this ANTI-GUN RIGHTS law, you’ll be moving the HQ and manufacturing plants out of CT.

>>They have not proposed anything to take guns away from violent criminals!<<

Let me tell you, their solution was to release 3,000 violent, convicted felons, back in to polite society, for good behavior. We have BIG problems here in CT. Pray for us.

>>Connecticut USED to be the consitution state<<...you are spot-on

Aka,The Nutmeg State, aka, *land of Steady Habits*.

The *nutmeg* analogy is apt here, I think b/c it is indicative of passing off something which appears to true/real...when in fact, it is completely the opposite.

Since the Malloy supremacy, we seem to be h3ll bent on passing legislation by decree, not by consensus.

I envision Sam Colt spinning in his grave.

The “liberal” states are now in a competition over which one can be the most “liberal” and pass the most draconian and prohibitive “gun control” legislation. They don’t really care about the criminals, gang bangers and islamists because after the middle class is destroyed the criminals, gangbangers and islamist feeding on the rest of the “proles” will be part of what keeps the “proles” occupied and not a threat to the reigining “elites”.

Bread and Circus, we’ll all be one the dole and the Circus will be either preying on the defenseless or being the prey.
