Well that didn’t take long. The Commander in Chief’s gun controlling zeal has evidently already reached into the military ranks. According to a report received from the wife of an active duty lieutenant (not pictured above) who is stationed in Indiana, the Army intends to register the firearms owned not only by servicemen and -women, but by their spouses and children as well . . .
To protect the careers of those involved, no names or base locations can be used here. Suffice it to say, though, that a gun rights organization with which I’m associated received a rather frantic call from an Army spouse after her husband received an email from his Captain. As she relays it, the email asked for a full list of all firearms (including make, model and serial number) owned by her husband and any member of the family.
According to the report, the email went out to all members of the unit, whether or not they live on-base. The lieutenant in question lives with his family off-base.
The implications of such a request are fairly staggering. It would seem to violate the Firearm Owners’ Protection Act’s provision against the creation of a gun registry. Here’s the relevant section of the law:
No such rule or regulation prescribed [by the Attorney General] after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or disposition be established. Nothing in this section expands or restricts the Secretary’s authority to inquire into the disposition of any firearm in the course of a criminal investigation.
Of course, the President may have made the determination that, in his capacity as Commander in Chief, he can order the creation such a registry within the military without the involvement of the Attorney General.
Again, we have not yet seen the email that’s been described to us by the military spouse in question. Yet. But we’d very much like to confirm the validity of this report.

That said, a two-year implementation phase sounds about right. Anyway, if you’re an active duty service member and have received such a request order via email through the chain of command, please forward it to guntruth@me.com.

Firearm’s registration has long been a requirement (since I was a kid) if you lived on post or on base, and if you shipped firearms overseas. It’s also required if you use on post facilities like a skeet range or take you guns to the Rod and Gun Club, or if you hunt on post. Soldiers living in the barracks have to keep their privately owned firearms in the arms room.
But, the military has generally been a very firearms friendly place. A conversation with the Commanding General is as likely to be about what shotgun to buy as it is about anything else. Of course, politics could easily change all of that and very quickly. I have never seen a requirement to register off post guns unless you want to bring them on the reservation, and that rule applies to family members as well. Captains sometimes get overzealous and that could certainly be the case here. An inquiry to the IG might be in order.
Well this will quickly sway the military into the ‘never disarm or shoot a civilian, even under orders’ camp.
I hope this is followed through and either found to be as reported OR found not to be applicable to off base family members and or military members who do not bring their personal weapon in base..

Another step in the leftists efforts to turn the military into another leftwing socialist plantation.
Simple: Transfer weapons from yourself (military member) to spouse/relative via bill of sale (depending on state living in). This is perfectly legal here in Arizona. If you live off base the military has no jurisdiction over your family but they do over you. Shortcircuit is to make sure you do not own the weapon legally. I would love to see a courts martial for a soldier who lived off base and whose spouse purchased a weapon for her use off base. I don’t think it would go anywhere. I have heard of military members being held accountable for their family’s behavior but these were all instances that happened on base, not off base. It’s true, as a veteran I can truly say that the military owns your ass while active duty. Not so with spouse/family if living off base.
I’ll bet that canoe trips increase in frequency.

Why would anyone with an IQ above 20 believe this obvious disinformation? Buckwheat is trying to drive a wedge between patriots. It’s all lies and disinformation.
My sources tell me that the 2ndMarDiv has plans to move up I-95 next week and arrest obuma for treason.
