A woman returning from a cruise vacation is being held in a central Florida jail on a warrant from 1991.
Brevard County Jail records show 41-year-old Robin Hall is being held on an out-of-county warrant. She’ll stay there until she is transferred to Orange County — possibly on Thursday — where she was arrested more than 20 years ago for stealing a pack of cigarettes at a local Wal-Mart. She was 18 at the time.
Hall tells WESH-TV she owes the state $85 in court costs.
“I just want it all to be over so I can go home,” Hall told the station.
She was taken into custody last week after arriving at Port Canaveral from vacation with her family. WESH reports that when authorities checked the cruise ship’s passenger list for terrorists, they found a warrant for Hall.
WESH-TV reports that Hall, who is an architect, designs jet engines for Pratt & Whitney.
Jail records don’t list an attorney.
cost of a pack of smokes in 1991... in Florida... what? $1.00? These days you need like a couple platinum coins with 0bozo’s likeness on it.

In the meantime, I nearly drove through a red light this morning and the Feds looked the other way!

If she didn’t have a job to lose, I’d have stayed in jail and fought it with a public defender and taken Wal-Mart to small claims court and cost as many people as much money and time as possible. I wouldn’t leave jail in fact.

You might need a clearance for that sort of job. I wonder if she’ll lose hers.

If she had only gone to Harvard, worked for Goldman Sachs and stolen $50 million, she would be free and clear.

This almost reminds me of the dangerous 5 year old with the bubble gun.
If her name had been Juanita Gonzalez, they wouldn’t have even bothered with arresting her.
I think $85 will buy TWO packs of cigarettes in New York, today, with the taxes up the ass.....
