North Korea Vows Nuclear Test 'Aimed' at US

by Steve Herman

North Korea is amplifying its rhetoric about carrying out more rocket launches and a third nuclear test.

North Korea's National Defense Commission says the reclusive state will conduct an “all-out confrontation battle” that will include further satellite and long-range launches, as well as what it calls a nuclear test of a “higher level.” It says these actions will be aimed at its sworn enemy, the United States.

Some Americans would say, as long as they are targeting D.C., have at it.

It’s not just Washington, though; there was a harsh message in the NDC comments for China, too. North Korea is clearly feeling unhappy at Beijing’s conduct, especially since the new leadership of Xi Jinping acquiesced to the latest UN resolution and then expressed its clear opposition to North Korean nuclear and missile developments in a meeting with a South Korean delegation.

Well, you have "Be thankful for twigs and bugs" day, which is the day they celebrate those filling additions to the NK diet.

Then there's "Be sure to cry convincingly" Day, which is a new one, to remind folks just how important it is to wail hysterically when Near Dear Leader kicks the bucket.

Feb. 16 : Dead Chia Head's birth day.

However, they could do it in advance, and have great parade on Chia’s birthday, commemorating his great legacy, HEU nuke bomb.

a nuclear test of a “higher level.”

You mean one that will actually work?

NK is the ONLY country that attempted a nuclear weapon test that failed. TWICE.

In the past, this kind of statements have turned out to be just rhetoric, because China's condemnation or support for some marginal sanction is usually symbolic and face-saving. NK wouldn't want to really take on China with their regime's life on the line for such a symbolic act of China.

Well, I can picture the fatboy holding up Zero's letter and setting it on fire with a lighter at the viewing balcony, drawing deafening cheers from crowds, while massive military parade is in progress.

You’re right....since they basically own us, and the letter is not worth what it is written on, I would expect the same....

An announcer, reading the defense commission statement, says “settling accounts with the United States needs to be done with force, not with words as the U.S. regards jungle law as the rule for survival.”
