DESOTO COUNTY, MS - (WMC-TV) – A North Mississippi sheriff is taking to social media to let residents know he will not support any gun reform that violates second amendment rights.

Sheriff Rasco is joining Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant in vowing to block any parts of President Barack Obama's plan for gun control that infringe on the right to possess and bear arms.
"He can come in here and tell us to enforce the laws, but we have laws in the state of Mississippi," said Rasco.
Sheriff Rasco made his points clear on the Sheriff's Facebook page next to a letter from Governor Bryant asking that legislation be immediately passed that would make any unconstitutional order by the President illegal to enforce in Mississippi by state and local law enforcement.
"As sheriff of DeSoto County, I'm not going to infringe on anybody's constitutional rights," Rasco stated.
"I know that they're starting in the wrong place. They should start with the criminals first and get those away from them so the rest of us can rest easily," said gun owner Al Jones.
Vietnam Veteran Henry Taylor has a permit to carry a gun that he wears in a holster.
"I don't think you need those large capacity magazines. I agree with 99 percent of what the President says," Taylor said.
President Obama's executive action includes a proposed ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines and assault weapons, like the weapon used in the Connecticut school shooting.
Shawna Rhea thinks something needs to be done about the guns.
"I really think everybody should abide by it. I don't feel it's safe the way they have the guns going on," Rhea said.
The comments on the DeSoto County Sheriff's Facebook page are creating quite a stir. It has almost 1,000 likes and more than 100 comments

He was probably a conscientious objector with a cook’s helper MOS in Saigon. Don’t know that to be fact, but I don’t know of any Viet Nam vet that would not be in favor of a 1000 round magazine if there was one and he could carry it.
Leftists are easy to identify. They’re experts on what you “NEED” and what you “DON’T NEED”.
If there's a protest, few police officers are needed at TEA party events, because they know the right wing will be peaceful. They know they're not needed. If there's a left wing protest, the police have to show up in riot gear.
It's not the guns. It's the people behind them.

Liberalism is a cult of misery. Sharing their misery is their real agenda.
They're not afraid of what we will do with guns. They're afraid of what they would do if they got access a gun.
Look at all the shooting histories. All democrat strong holds, and all democrat affiliated.
In reality, they're afraid of their own - they're not afraid of us. In fact, in an emergency, they'd expect us to defend them.
To prove my point, look at how they view prepping. They believe preppers should be working hard to stock up in order to serve others (them) instead of just themselves. They've even gone as far as saying all those who prep should have their food comfinscated so others (them) get sink their teeth into it. Not one word about them trying to save themselves. They're counting on us, once again, to save them.

They are utterly delusional. I have actually had one say to me (he pretended to be joking), “I will just come to your house and eat your food and shelter behind you”. I replied, “No you won’t, don’t you think that we have prepared for the eventuality that the ‘takers’ will want to come ‘take’ from us?” Not to mention, we won’t be at our house.
