Sen. John McCain supports allowing women in combat, but says it remains critical for the military to uphold the same high standards that made it the strongest in the world.
On Wednesday, outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced that women will be permitted in combat, potentially opening hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and elite Special Forces jobs to women as well as men. …

Army ‘has dropped fitness standards to allow more women to join’
Fitness standards for British Army recruits including men have been reduced so that more women can join and equality targets can be met, it has been claimed.

Major Judith Webb, the first woman to lead an all-male field force in the Army, warned that standards would deteriorate further if the UK followed America in allowing women soldiers to fight on the front line.
She said women should not be given roles in infantry units where they would be expected to “close with and kill the enemy at close quarters”.
Hundreds of thousands of women won’t volunteer to go. You’ll have to Draft them.

The problem is the standards and the inevitable lowering of them.
The daughter of a friend who was in the Marines for a few years complained about the lower standards imposed on female recruits. She said it would have felt better to fail honestly than to get by and pass all the tests through easier standards.
How can women complete Ranger and Special Forces Training unless standards for them are reduced? Maybe a couple might make it through now and then, but realistically, it wont happen unless they have different or relaxed standards. When the Army decided to admit women to the Military Academy, they said the standards wouldn’t change. Well guess what, the standards for the admission Physical Fitness Tests and the standards while attending did change (Lowered).
Compare/contrast to nearly every single fire department and police department in America in lowering their physical standards so that more women could “make it”
I’m sure they’ll all have to sign up for the draft,too./sarc
And next come “reasonable accomodations” and other ADA regs meant for civilians in the civilian world.
One more way to make the military just another democrat jobs programs.
The Joint Chiefs must be smoking the extra large joints now days.
Maybe the leftards can unionize the military next.

Sometimes I think one of the biggest problems this country faces is the stupidity that comes from long-term success. We’ve had prosperity and relative miltary dominance for so long that we’ve forgotten what those things really depend on. In short, blind ideology trumps reason and common sense.
A good cure for that is getting your a$$ handed to you in a big way. The only problem is that, if it happens, you need time to recover and learn from your mistakes. There are so many moonbats in the country now that I fear that even if we have one of those incidents, we’ll draw exactly the wrong conclusions.
We’ll have Iran/Syria/Afria/etc to test their little social experiment.

All I keep thinking of is divisions of American women facing off against Panzer divisions, The Waffen SS and the Japanese Sendai division. It’s just the first thing that comes to mind for some reason.
Lower the standards and re-institute the draft for women only for the next 40 years, you know we need to play “catch up” I say we draft any women and weak kneed male in any women’s studies class and send them over to Afghanistan to replace all our troops there.
Let them see what a real “Male Dominated Society” looks like and when the weak kneed wildebeest beta males are beheaded and the hippie chicks are put in burquas and raped daily they will learn that America isn’t such a bad place after all.

Well they have been propping up things and masking any sorta of natural economic cycle since the late 1910’s. Economies should be up and down, it makes a more resilient people and forces them to think LONG TERM. In the 1800’s there would be a MAJOR depression every 10-20 years and it would only last a year or three at most then things would bloom again. The Progressives have always sold their poisons as a way to “even out the bumps” but this has damaged the natural cycle which is there to cleanse the useless parts of the economies and help bolster the robust parts of it.
This whole trying to play “Intelligent Designer” with the Economy is the height of Hubris and will be our downfall. When Men play God they ultimately FAIL!
In many if not most billets, gays and women can serve effectively although they are going to be challenged and degraded by their ability to cope with the effects of pregnancy and homophobia and fitness.
Remember ladies, all of our shooting enemies are muslim men. For them is haram (forbidden) to look or talk to women, any women, especially those in uniform or demonstrating any authority.
Factor that into your combat walking patrol and liaison with village elders that will greatly affect whether your troops survive.

Heck, the women of that Generation would have done a fine job at defending this country had the men all died in combat and they were the only ones left to defend us from Germany and Japan.
Today’s typical low information women is a self-entitled brainwashed creature who thinks they can have their cake and eat it too. We have lost the Elle May and Grandma Clampett type women with their shotguns and have ended up with a bunch of spoiled Ms. Clydesdales who want more “rights” than even men have but want the responsibility part of the equation to be still handled by the men.
If they get dropped from traing for not meeting the ctiteria they will just play the gender card and accuse the instructors of being too tough on em.
