Another diversion: Democrats launch plan to turn Texas blue

National Democrats are taking steps to create a large-scale independent group aimed at turning traditionally conservative Texas into a prime electoral battleground, crafting a new initiative to identify and mobilize progressive voters in the rapidly-changing state, strategists familiar with the plans told POLITICO.

The organization, dubbed “Battleground Texas,” plans to engage the state’s rapidly growing Latino population, as well as African-American voters and other Democratic-leaning constituencies that have been underrepresented at the ballot box in recent cycles. Two sources said the contemplated budget would run into the tens of millions of dollars over several years - a project Democrats hope has enough heft to help turn what has long been an electoral pipe dream into reality.

At the center of the effort is Jeremy Bird, formerly the national field director for President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, who was in Austin last week to confer with local Democrats about the project.

When is the gop going to wake up to the blatant racist takeover fueled by illegal immigration?

The democrats are seizing this country with illegally trespassing citizens of other countries, mostly Mexicans.

Meanwhile, they are employing racism to obtain their 100% african american backing.

Ten years ago I would have laughed. I’m not laughing now. Obama’s Thug Machine has unlimited illegal foreign money to set-up an operation on every Texas street corner.

The Castro TWINS were interviewed on Sunday, and noted that Texas will go purple , then blue in the near future. Remember where you first saw Obama.. DNC Convention.

Julian is a Representative now. Joaquin is Mayor of SanAntonio. Good looking, articulate, being groomed. Sound familiar? Watch them BOTH.

They poored tons of money into Colorado to turn it forever
blue - and apparently have done so successfully.
They boasted of the attempt to get Colorado because it was
in the midst of other red states (like Nebraska, Kansas,
Wyoming, Utah, etc).

Going after Texas next worries me.
Soros was a big money supplier in the Colorado effort.

as a resident of DFW I can say this deal is in the bag!! Take a look at the major cities of TX - Dallas- demo mayor, Houston lesbian demo mayor, San Antonio, Ft Worth, Austin demo mayors add up their populations and you have a pretty big base, then go look at the "yellow dog" democrats that are still alive in TX and you have the beginning of the nightmare.

Oh and BTW big taxes for real estate and fees out the booty are how "slight of hand democrats" or wolf in sheep clothing, like Rick Perry, convince folks that his is a low tax state and he is a conservative republican...not.

If the Barnet Shale and Eagle Ford had not happened we would be in big trouble from out spenders in Austin.

This is very true. Take our new Senator Ted Cruz (R) as an example.

But more than that - Hispanics may vote democrat, but they are a conservative group. Their family values align with conservative values in many ways.

Texans will never allow queer marriages, for instance.

Sadly (as I have seen with the Catholic community here in the Rust Belt) having Conservative social values means next to diddly when it comes to voting patterns.

If voting Dem is perceived as the best move for their pocketbooks they’ll do it in a heartbeat.

(for how long have I heard “Yeah, he’s a two-timing womanizing bastard who never met an abortion he didn’t like...but he’s for the Unions. And that’s what the Workin’ Man needs!”)

Both Castro’s were raised with a La Raza mindset by their Marxist America-hating mother.

They remind me of another former hispanic San Antonio mayor who was groomed to be a National hero. And in fact was a HUD Secretary under Clintoon.

After a sex scandal, Henry Cisneros fell to disgrace.

And look at these two pretty Castro boys. Sheesh. When they have their sex scandals... it won’t be with a mistress.

Texas should charge an entry fee. Keep out as much riff raff as possible.

But then we have to take care of the ILLEGALS so it’s a friggin wash!

California has always been a trendy place where the “beautiful” people live

No. California was once a place where rugged individuals came to make a new life and possibly a fortune in gold (49ers) or in agriculture and fishing. The water system in California could have never been built with the politicians who are running California now. The freeways could not have been built either. At one time San Francisco was a republican strong hold and very conservative. The change in California started in the 60's when a lot of hippies and communist started moving there. It was cemented when prop 187 was passed by the voters but declared unconstitutional by a federal court.

California has always been a trendy place where the “beautiful” people live and direct their misery to the rest of the populace.

California gave us Ronald Reagan, and had conservative Republican governors (Deukmajian and Pete Wilson) for most of the 1980s and 90s. California was not always a solidly blue state, and the reason it is now is chiefly demographic.

“Which is why people from California moving to Texas (or anywhere else) should be required to register with the state.”

I think the Mexicans (legal or illegal) are the problem, and until Americans breed there will be no stopping the inevitable. Our own birthrate is mired in legal and social complications (deliberately, I believe), and so unless you import some Mormons I don’t see how it doesn’t flip.

Its more than being Catholic. Having lived in San Antonio for over 40 years, I think I’m qualified to state that the family is key to the hispanic heritage.

The illegitimacy rates for poor hispanics are off the charts, sure. But not necessarily abortion. And the hispanic values on family run pretty deep.

I’m no social expert on the voting trends of mexican americans in Texas, but overall.... I’m not convinced they will turn Texas into a Mexifornia or worse.

I hope not. I look at what other states are doing and I thank God I’m a Texan.

It’s almost guaranteed.
Same scenario as the country as a whole.

Immigrants, legal and illegal.
Old people (65% Republican voting) dying off at 2.5 mil a year being replaced by blacks, hispanics, and asians (70% Democrat voting).
Two generations now “educated” by progressive public education.

With the illigals flooding north and California lib rats jumping ship and relocating here daily I think the danger is real.

As was suggested to me on a previous thread, we need to be passing laws now that limit illegal welfare (and enforce them even if some federal scum strikes them down) and pass socially conservative laws (anti-abortion) that will make the california parasites loathe to come here. Being fiscally sound but socially liberal will do nothing but invite trouble.

And the Dems don’t need to lift a finger

I remember how the slobbering media was calling Zer0 a “Rising Star” when he won his senate race.

Same thing was said about Joaquin of San Antonio. Again, the slobbering media called him a “Rising Star”

Yep, it was nice knowing ya Texas.

I dont see how this is a diversion and not a real threat. It has happened numerous times. Rats get disinchanted with the hellholes they create and move to red states, but still vote like RATS. I hear TX is attracting lots of californicants which is worrysome. If they do turn TX blue either by blue state migrants or giving illegals the vote it will be many generations before there will be another Repub President.
