Sierra Club Decides to Break Law to Stop Keystone Pipeline
Breitbart ^ | 24 Jan 2013 | Brandon Darby

The Sierra Club has announced its approval for a "one-time" use of civil disobedience. The civil disobedience is intended to step up their efforts to oppose the Keystone pipeline.

Many of the other groups opposing Keystone have been engaging in civil disobedience as a tactic, including arson-based ecoterrorism. This will be the first time in the Sierra Club's history that they have approved violating the law.

They really do believe that in order to save the environment, American capitalism must be destroyed. They also act on their beliefs and help those who are equally dangerous and terrorism inclined. Yes, they really are small ‘c’ commies.

They were likely funded by Large 'C' Commies, about the same time as Greenpeace got a gob of funding from the KGB, for the express purpose of interfering with Western Industry. Best money the Soviets ever spent, as far as that goes (for them), the gift that keeps on giving.

But they have made an error here, if they have proposed violent acts to damage and/or interfere with the construction of critical infrastructure.

That makes them "Domestic Terrorists".

I stand corrected. CocoPuffs leaft the Sierra Club abck in 2006. He is still a kindred spirit (demon?) to that organization.

It’s a darned shame that a once decent organization has become dominated by a bunch of left wing kooks... Sort of like the U.S. Government.

“another once beneficial organization that has been taken over by extremists who want control rather than conservation”

They were formed in the 50s by 40 jet setter playboy cross country skiers from rich families.

Their only purpose was preserving the back country for cross country skiing in the high sierra, I happened to know one of them, now dead.

It’s just the dying gasps of the global warming fraud movement. They know that the Keystone Pipeline is a death knell for any physical limitations on the amount of fossil fuel energy we can produce in North America, and they were counting on “Peak Oil” and “energy independence” to help in their crusade to shut down our energy infrastructure. Fracking and oil sands and Canada have put the lie to all of that, and they’re stressed as hell.

The Sierra Club has always been careful to insulate themselves (and their substantial assets) by forming front groups, as I had indicated in my prior email.

However, environmental activism and protests are Big Business. In the case I was involved in, the “protestors” had their own professional video crew to film them, and most of them were flown in from other parts of the country and given hotel rooms so they could participate in the “protest.” Several who tried to provoke a violent confrontation with us and workers on the job site were miked and had hidden video cameras—if they could get a reaction on tape, they could then doctor it up to make it look like we were the aggressors and bad guys. So they swung shovels and pickaxes at us, and taunted and swore at us, and threatened to destroy construction equipment. Fortunately, one of the undercover policemen who was with us leaned over and said, “be careful, they’re wired.”

It turned out later this was all part of a coordinated national fundraising campaign, using our project as something the enviros were “saving.”

This is why I rooted for the Japanese whalers in “Whale Wars.” I’ve seen it firsthand and know it is all a scam, the enviros really don’t care about the whales, they are just out to make money through publicity and public outrage.
Here’s just one story exposing a part of the Sea Shepherd Society scam:

Any criminal violation of the law should open the Sierra Club to losing any 501C3 or 504 tax-exempt status with the IRS.

If the state(s) where the civil disobedience takes place charges them with criminal trespass, destruction of private property, interference with commerce, etc., then they will loss their tax exempt status upon conviction.

The state(s) might also be able to ban them from operating within their state upon conviction, labelling them a “criminal organization” or a “violent organization.”

A good prosecutor should know what to do. Just the legal fees to defend against such charges would be enormous, and if they lose, all this legal defense money (if funnelled through as tax-exempt), would be taxable.

Bring it on!

Seems to me that they’ve opened themselves to prosecution with this announcement that they have approved illegal activities in pursuit of their goals.

Prosecuted? By whom? That's the problem -- they can do this because they know they'll get away with it.

For the first time in my personal history, I approve civil disobedience in pursuit of the dismantling of the Sierra Club.

For ecoterrorists, I approve of execution with or without trial.

The organization was founded by author Bill McKibben an American environmentalist and writer who frequently writes about global warming, alternative energy, and the need for more localised economies. McKibben promotes the organisation, for instance by writing articles about it for many major newspapers and media, such as the Los Angeles Times and The Guardian.

In 2011 and 2012 he led the massive environmental fight against the proposed Keystone XL pipeline project and spent three days in jail in Washington D.C. as leader of one of the largest civil disobedience actions in America for decades.
