The U.S. military reportedly ordered soldiers to remove a cross and a steeple from atop a chapel and to board up cross-shaped windows at a remote American forward operating base in Afghanistan.
The removal of Christian symbols from the chapel at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E came after a solider complained — leading American Atheists president David Silverman to send a letter to the Pentagon.

“The local command in Afghanistan is aware of this chapel and has taken appropriate action to ensure that it is changed into a neutral facility,” said a statement from an Army spokesman at the Pentagon to the NBC.
The base reportedly sent out a memo to soldiers explaining that the crosses had to be removed to bring the chapel into compliance with military rules.
Army Regulation 165-1, 12-3k states:”The chapel environment will be religiously neutral when the facility is not being used for scheduled worship. Portable religious symbols, icons, or statues may be used within a chapel during times of religious worship.”
“Symbols are to be moved or covered when not in use during services. Distinctive religious symbols, such as crosses, crucifixes, the Star of David, Menorah, and other religious symbols will not be affixed or displayed permanently on the chapel interior, exterior, or grounds. Permanent or fixed chapel furnishings, such as the altar, pulpit, lectern, or communion rail will be devoid of distinctive religious symbols.”

I would shun this little rodent and encourage all decent soldiers to avoid him in all respects except for formal, professional interactions. Those who oppose freedom for others should pay a steep price (and, yes, that is a Christian perspective - Jesus gave many commands, and it is irreverent to ignore the rest of His words and just focus on turning the other cheek and not judging).

Do I think the high command would issue the command to fire on the Ameircan Citizen? Yes, I do think the high command would issue the command and the boots would frag their ass....in very short order.
Ditto. MOST of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines would not follow this pathetic ‘Not Commander in Chief’ whether or not their Military leaders did in issuing that command.

A very close friend of mine is a junior Army officer who came up the hard way through the enlisted Infantry ranks and did his time in the sand box. He says that his battalion is infested with Rats, from the commander on down, and that the worst of the lot are his incompetent women colleagues, who rose to their current status because of their gender and nothing more. He told me last night now that women are going to be allowed into the combat arms, he's now at peace with his decision to leave the infantry and go into logistics. He also predicts that we're going to get our arses kicked in the next big general land war we have to fight in the future, because of the political correctness running amok in the military.

Communion rail...hmmm...s’pose the Army’ll make them remove it? Y’know, since communion is by its definition, and the communion rail is by its design, solely for Christian worship? Nahhhh, COULDN’T happen.
