(RINO) Kirk working on bipartisan gun control bill
Daily Herald ^ | January 25, 2013 | Kerry Lester

U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk, newly returned to Congress after suffering a stroke, is becoming a central figure in the Senate's gun control debate.

An aide in Kirk's office has confirmed that the Highland Park Republican is working with two Democrats to draft bipartisan gun control legislation.

One of those is Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, of New York, with whom Kirk is working on legislation to crack down on gun trafficking.

"Proud to partner w/@Senator Kirk to introduce the Gun Trafficking Prevention Act next week — common sense, bipartisan gun safety reform," Gillibrand, of New Brunswick, tweeted Thursday.

"Gun Trafficking" equals private sales.
Screw these people.

And do not be distracted by Feinstein's show - her bill (if there even is such a thing) has not been introduced into the system.
Everything she wants to accomplish is already underway in separate legislation.

The gun grabber's legislative (National) bill compendium, updated (almost) daily:

House Bills:
HR 21: NRA Members' Gun Safety Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 34: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 117: Handgun Licensing and Registration Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 137: Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 138: Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 141: Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 142: Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 226: Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Streets Act. Referred to the Ways and Means committee.
HR 227: Buyback Our Safety Act. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 236: Crackdown on Deadbeat Gun Dealers Act of 2013. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 238: Fire Sale Loophole Closing Act. Referred to the Judicary committee.
HR 329: To amend the NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007 to encourage States to provide records to the National Instant Background Check System.
HR 404: To enhance criminal penalties for straw purchasers of firearms.

Senate Bills:
S22: A bill to establish background check procedures for gun shows.
S33: A bill to prohibit the transfer or possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices, and for other purposes.
S34: A bill to increase public safety by permitting the Attorney General to deny the transfer of firearms or the issuance of firearms and explosives licenses to known or suspected dangerous terrorists.
S35: A bill to require face to face purchases of ammunition, to require licensing of ammunition dealers, and to require reporting regarding bulk purchases of ammunition.
S54: A bill to increase public safety by punishing and deterring firearms trafficking. ("trafficking = "private sales")

And an interesting side note:
HR 339: To require the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to make video recordings of the examination and testing of firearms and ammunition, and for other purposes.

And one to support! HR 410: To provide that any executive action infringing on the Second Amendment has no force or effect, and to prohibit the use of funds for certain purposes.

Kirk can barely function, let alone co-sponsor an anti-gun bill!

We all know gun control does not work to stop crime.

The GOP better stand firm for the 2nd amendment with no infringements.

A half assed bill is bound to fail. When it does, they will just confiscate. If the RATs want to change the Constitution, they can attempt do it the only way.

Otherwise no deals.

Require all Gangbanger’s and Drug Lords to run background checks on all new recruits, before arming them.

Some true conservative should actually write this single piece of legislation, while remarking on special concern for Chicago, Detroit, and D.C.

When charged with “racism” be prepared to inform the attacker that they are racist for suggesting only minorities hold those positions.

While Sen. Kirk was a U.S. rep., his usual rating from Gun Owners of America was 0%, and his rating from Planned Parenthood was 100%. I hope that he won’t run, in 2016, and that he’ll be replaced by Congressman Randy Hultgren.

Kirk can barely function, let alone co-sponsor an anti-gun bill!

His "aides" are making all the decisions and once Kirk is no longer useful, one of those aides will run for his seat.

We need a new party.

The Republican party is too infiltrated by Democrats who like to use the label of Republican to get themselves elected.

Yep, and that should tell you who’s actually writing the gun-grab legislation and that they’re just propping him up as their bipartisan Republican front guy.

Flashback:

IL-Sen: Kirk Seeks Palin Endorsement

Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk penned a memo to Republican poobah Fred Malek hoping to secure an endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his Senate candidacy, according to a copy of the memo obtained by the Fix.

Of course Palin ignored him completely, and her RINO detecting instincts are once again proven to be spot on.

Watered down gun bill.

If Republicans (conservatives) fought like Dems (libs) they would load this bill up with poison amendments like banning handguns which doesnt have a safety feature that doesnt even exist, and a nationwide natural registration, to be renewed yearly (owch),
and then put those poison amendments out on Senate floor as bait for the Senate progressives to vote for them (the amendments), then vote against the what was intended to be moderate bill after poisoning it, to its death. Then boast how Obama failed.

I have seen dems do this successfully before.

Oh, but I forgot, only Dems are allowed to fight to win, ‘we’s gots principles instead’

I (and others) were called every name in the book for refusing to vote for this rino bastard. At the time, 2010, I also stated that on the far fetched occasion that liberal Romney should win the republican nomination, that I wouldn't vote for him either. I voted for neither and am proud of it. My voting for liberals stopped after McCain.

Now I see Romney voters coming out of the wood work saying, "never again" will they vote for another liberal. Some learn sooner than others. I only regret that I didn't learn my lesson sooner.

None of that is an Article 1 Section 8 power given to the FedGov. 100% over-reach.

This is very important and useful work!

Would it be helpful to add the sponsor's name to the bill also?

(Naturally, "Mo" De Laurio - that odd Socialist-Democrat from Connecticut - her bill has zero chance in a Republican House. Conversely, of course, a Republican Senator's bill is only a "show horse" bill in a Democrat-controlled Senate.

(They still need to be on the list, as you know, if only because the text of their bill could later be added as an amendment, in whole or in part, to any bill actually allowed consideration - and suddenly, in the middle of the night - and at any point along the way! A standard legislative shell game.)

Again - very useful work.

Otherwise no deals.

Exactly. No infringement. Make them defend any attempt at circumventing the clear language of the Constitution.

Has anyone dared introduce a constitutional amendment?
