The deadline for New York Times newsroom managers to take voluntary buyouts came and went yesterday without reaching the target of 30 takers.
Now, insiders are worried that involuntary cuts layoffs will start.

Sure is. And it’s trash day, too. Right to the curb.
Elections have consequences.
Always nice to see trouble in our enemy’s tent, thanks for this post.

Or someone like T Boone Pickens. That would be a real hoot.
1/2 of the staff would have and immediate coronary.

The inability to criticize the President is really hurting the media business. When Clinton was around, the media focused on Gingrich as the big bad boogyman but they haven’t found any traction with the current Republicans. The MSM voluntarily decided to act like a Dem State-run operation - they could flip. That's the threat...
I am hoping The Boston Globe is right behind NYT’s slide into oblivion.
Screw those bustards. The NYT gets a chance to cut the truly stupid/lazy ones. I really look forward to the day they cut the editorial page.
They would have to get the class A shares, and those are all held by Ochs/Sulzbergs. Sure would be nice to see some of them try and dump the class A shares.
