Rand Paul: F-16 Sales to Muslim Brotherhood 'A Mistake that Could Haunt Us'
Newsmax ^ | Greg McDonald

Posted on 01/25/2013 10:00:31 AM PST by JohnPDuncan

Sen. Rand Paul is calling the U.S. sale of 16 advanced F-16 fighter jets to Egypt "a huge mistake" that could come back to haunt America, depending on the direction Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi takes his country.

" I think it's a huge mistake," the Kentucky Republican told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren on Thursday night.

"I think there's a potential that it elevates an arms race, and what we give to Egypt, Israel wants more or needs more to defend themselves," Paul continued. "And I think there's a risk. President Morsi's had words . . . calling those who are in favor of Israel, calling them bloodsuckers, and apes, and descendants of pigs. I'd be a little bit concerned about arming a person who had that kind of language.

"I'm also concerned that these are weapons that could come back to haunt us," Paul added, recalling how the United States helped arm Osama bin Laden in the 1980s when he was part of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan.

Asked what would happen if the fighter sale, which was arranged when former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was still in power, was canceled, Paul said he wasn't sure how Morsi would react.

"I'm not sure exactly what would happen, necessarily," he said. But he added that they would likely be willing to negotiate.

What would the U.S. ask for in return for planes? "I would say to them, 'Maybe you should protect our embassy. Maybe you shouldn't let hordes of people jump on top of our embassy and burn our flag and chant death to America."

"I would condition money and anything we give to them on good behavior. And I don't think we've been getting good behavior from Egypt," he added.

This Rand Paul senator must be making the liberals nervous. Politico is already putting out hit pieces on him.

This leads me to wonder... Is Paul going to run in 2016, I can see him doing so and going on the attack NOW in order to establish his Bona Fides against the socailists, also this enabled the left to throw everything at him NOW and then by the time 2015-16 rolls around they have nothing left.....

I like Rand Paul because,

He speaks clearly, and never seems lost for words, or agitated. I have never seen the deer in the headlights look some of our other politicians show.

But more than that, he exudes just plain old basic common sense. That should be the heart and soul of conservatism.

Thank God for Sen. Rand Paul, he asked Hillary a very direct question during her hearings, and accused her of not doing her job, with the reality she had not read the many messages from our Ambassador in Benghazi. She was essentially in dereliction of duty. ALL TRUE.

Giving these fighter planes and also the tanks is arming the enemy. We must be in support of our only friend in the middle east ISRAEL.

God we pray for the peace and blessing of Israel, Jerusalem, and the healing of animosities in the middle east, in Jesus name, amen.

Rand Paul is starting to look like someone who could lead the Republicans out of The Valley Of Death so the democrats and the Obama-Media will try to take him down before he builds momentum.

I hope he has armed security and a food taster.

The International Military Tribunal (IMT) tried the NAZI defendents charged with:

(a) Crimes against Peace: namely, planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances, or participation in a Common Plan or Conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the foregoing;
(b) War Crimes: namely, violations of the laws or customs of war. Such violations shall include, but not be limited to, murder, ill-treatment or deportation to slave labor or for any other purpose of civilian population of or in occupied territory, murder or ill-treatment of prisoners of war or persons on the seas, killing of hostages, plunder of public or private property, wanton destruction of cities, towns, or villages, or devastation not justified by military necessity;
(c) Crimes against Humanity: namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war,14 or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of domestic law of the country where perpetrated.

The Obama Administration’s sales of the F-16 fighter aircraft to Egypt arguably could result in indictments of the Obama Administration officials for Crimes against Peace and Crimes against Humanity in the event Egypt were to commit genocidee against the people of Israel while using those U.S. suppliedd weapons.

It is abysmal, appalling, disgusting and very treasonous, the things that this present administration is doing now and for the next four years!
The story of the US sending planes and tanks to our sworn enemies and no one has the guts to say it is a treasonous act, is far worse.
The (PRESS?) is a bunch of bootlicking quislings that want this great country as it once was into a third world country. The politicians are equally guilty of condoning the viscous assault on our Constitution by not having the cojones to confront the Dear Leader.
A question that I have not heard from anyone on this matter is; Are we going to supply the munitions that go to make the planes and tanks proficient in the Brotherhood’s use of same? How many rounds of tank shells with depleted uranium will be used against Israel?
So far Senator Rand Paul is the only one asking the rational questions.
I hope he is not headed for Fort Marcy Park!
FUBO and GOD save the USA!

“MIstake”? It wasn’t a mistake. It is the intentional arming of America and Israel’s enemies, with full knowledge that these weapons will be used to attack American and/or its allies, or to subject Egyptian citizens to terror. It’s nothing less than treason.

could haunt?
no,

will haunt.

Sending them cash and weapons are only contributing to their belligerence. Also, Obama wants his caliphate completed at America’s expense.

While I could agree to a point, middle eastern pilots, from Muslim countries, can not fly airplanes to save their lives.

Good Afternoon,,
You are absolutely correct and it is a conspiracy of major proportions, that if he were alive, even Ray Charles could see!
I don’t see anyone in the media(?) including so called Conservatives are not speaking up. My Rep. is absolutely mute on the subject. In florida where I am Nelson and Rubio are also silent . I expect that from the Ex-Rocket jockey.
The Darling of the Republican Light is more into accepting the Media’s desire to promote Marco, “ I’ve a plan for “Comprehensive(Obama) Immigration Reform”!
When the Left Media(redundant) is gaga over showing his take on immigration and saying it is a good plan. It is a copy of Obama’s.
Back to Egypt, how long until they Blockade the Suez Canal? Could 200 M1-A2s control the Suez, with air support from 15 F 16s? Who here thinks Our Great Fearless leader would do anything.
Forget “Remember The Alamo”. it is now
“ I Don’t Remember Benghazi”!

And the 200 M1A1 Abrams in the deal.

Is Beezlebub (aka Zer0) out of his mind??

Who is Egypt afraid of vis-a-vis invasion? Libya, Chad, Sudan ?

If they leave Israel alone they have nothing to fear from that direction.
