The coming collapse of the abortion lobby
Fox News ^ | January 25, 2013 | Dr. Charmaine Yoest

Forty years after Roe v. Wade, a powerful shift is taking place within Big Abortion. What abortion advocates could not win through choice, they intend to impose through coercion.

Even Time magazine recently acknowledged on their cover that, for those so inclined to celebrate Roe’s anniversary, the rejoicing over abortion on demand should be tinged with concern.  On January 14th Time asked “What Choice?” and then answered their own question:  “40 years ago, abortion rights activists won an epic victory with Roe v. Wade,” the cover noted and then concluded: “They’ve been losing ever since.”

When viewed through the lens of policy, instead of private decisions “choice” encompasses individual liberty and a freedom to dissent.   “Privacy” has long since vanished in the context of abortion policy:  the abortion statists believe the procedure should permeate the public sphere.

We won’t see much of anything happen at the national level in the next several years, but there is a rising tide of pro-life legislation passing at the state level that is dramatically changing the contours of abortion policy in this country. The storm surge is coming.

They want abortion defined as fundamental health care for women...and they want every American to pay for it. They do not believe an individual should have a choice whether to participate in abortion. They plan to force every American, regardless of their personal beliefs and values, to participate in abortion as part of the everyday fabric of our culture through tax subsidies and occupational mandates.

And in response, what do we see in the pro-life, legal community?  The number one piece of model legislation requested from our legal team is the one that assists in defunding the abortion industry.  Following closely after is the model that reinforces Rights of Conscience.

Losing ever since?

I do not believe that for a second. 50 million babies would probably disagree too.

The abortion lobby today is a little like the old Soviet bloc that looked invincible … right up to the day it collapsed under the weight of its own stagnation. The old guard of the Kremlin were on the wrong side of history, science, and the truth in much the same way that Big Abortion is today.

Moral absolutes ping!

I think the momentum in the abortion war is on the side of Life. To defy Natural Law takes a constant infusion of energy to fuel self-deception. Eventually the supply is exhausted. Even the Usurper's pro-Roe statement was lacking in energy and conviction--it was a mere recitation of an old and wornout shibboleth.

I understand your frustration but recognize that change does not happen overnight. If you watched the Walk for Life from San Francisco, today, you heard the statistics regarding the number of abortion mills that once existed and have since closed. Furthermore, you would have heard the number of medical practitioners who now refuse to perform abortions. Yes, 50 million+ babies have been lost in this battle but Pro Lifers are now on the winning side. The number of protesters attest to this fact. Yesterday, in Washington DC, that number swelled to its largest ever, topping the 500,000 mark. It was a similar situation today in San Francisco where the West Coast March for Life had its largest attendance ever. Moreover, these marches have now inspired pro-lifers in other countries.

Pollyanna. I don’t believe a thing she asserts.

It’s gonna be interesting as Cuomo of NY pushes his abortion maximum agenda on a state he already has good and pissed about his gun control measures.

We have to pray for the end of abortion.

And then we have to pray for it to keep ended.

I noticed that shortly after Mitch Daniels denied state funds to Planned Parenthood, Obama and Sebellius began their so-called "War on Women". This wasn't out of the blue...I believe it was in reaction to Daniels' move.

It was then that they mandated that insurance companies must cover the abortion pill.

It seems they saw that the abortion cause was losing at the state level (federal funds already denied through the Hyde amendment) so they decided on a sweeping, new federal regulation.

Pro-death movement kills 50 million babies in forty years.

That equals assassination of two entire generations, one-sixth of the current US population — equal to twice the entire population of Texas, or half the current population of Mexico.

It is genocide by any definition.

Have these pro-death advocates never held a baby? Why do they do that?

How can murder of defenseless innocents on such a massive scale be permissible?

If they’re “losing” then it’s via a “scorched earth” policy.

Those people holding the “Keep Abortion Legal” signs are gonna regret that when they’re before the Lord on Judgement Day. No appeal, no excuses and no Johnnie Cochran to save them....no way to “OJ” out of it.

Considering Planned Parenthood’s goal was 50 Centillion+ and not just 50 million Yes I’d say they are losing.

One problem the abortion industry has involves the recruiting of new “doctors” to perform the abortions. Doctors are trained to save lives, not take them, and most do not want anything to do with abortion. One of the abortionists in our local mill is 82 years old. I’m hoping they will not find anyone to replace him when he finally decides to retire.

By the Babe Unborn

by G. K. Chesterton

If trees were tall and grasses short,
As in some crazy tale,
If here and there a sea were blue
Beyond the breaking pale,

If a fixed fire hung in the air
To warm me one day through,
If deep green hair grew on great hills,
I know what I should do.
In dark I lie; dreaming that there
Are great eyes cold or kind,
And twisted streets and silent doors,
And living men behind.

Let storm clouds come: better an hour,
And leave to weep and fight,
Than all the ages I have ruled
The empires of the night.

I think that if they gave me leave
Within the world to stand,
I would be good through all the day
I spent in fairyland.
They should not hear a word from me
Of selfishness or scorn,
If only I could find the door,
If only I were born.

We have to pray for the end of abortion.
Yes!! And a couple noteworthy people agree with you:
If people spent an hour a week in Eucharistic adoration, abortion would be ended. --Mother Teresa of Calcutta

We are only channels of grace to others in the measure that we are possessed of God's grace ourselves. Let me repeat in the clearest words in my disposal... Proposition #1 There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion. #2 The principal source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist. --Fr. John A. Hardon

One final word. All that I have said was not only an exhortation to say the Rosary. Absolutely not! I am pleading with you to become apostles of the Rosary. Promote the Rosary. Urge the Rosary. Teach the Rosary. Shall I say, advertise the Rosary. It is through the Rosary that we can bring countless souls back to Christ from whom they have strayed. It is through the Rosary that we can make them lovers of Christ through the mediation of His Mother, the Mother of Miracles since the marriage feast at Cana even to the dawn of eternity. --Fr. John A. Hardon http://adorationrocks.posterous.com/166971716
It bears repeating: "NO WAY WILL HUMAN MEANS STOP ABORTION." [emphasis: mine]
