A 38-year-old man was killed in the Englewood neighborhood tonight, making him the sixth person shot dead today, police said.
The latest shooting happened about 10:05 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Carpenter Street, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
The man died on the scene, Gaines said.

I just don’t understand certain things.
The liberals are having a meltdown about gun control after the Newtown shootings. Yet the liberals are silent about this everyday violence among the gangs of our inner cities. The ongoing violence in the cities has been going on for decades, with little said by liberals. Far more are slain in gun violence in the cities than as a result of mass shootings. Yet liberals never talk about that.
You have to click on the link to see which concentrated Democrat parasite nest ("city") the headline is talking about, but you figure it's probably Chicago, lol.
I remember going to Chicago in the eighties, enjoyed watching the girls go into the Playboy Club, otherwise the only thing that ran through my was “and I thought Los Angeles sucked!”
liberals are silent because the gun violence in Chicago goes against their agenda..in Chicago its black on black crime..meaning, “Nothing to see here, moving on.” Remember the shooting a few days ago at the college in Houston..the second the media found out the shooter was black the media stopped covering it..literally took two hours for the media to just drop the story, like it never happened..our local media here in LA was covering it like crazy when it happened..but as soon as they showed the shooter being carried out on a stretcher(and showing that he was black) that was it..no more mention of it..if it doesn’t fit their agenda they won’t report on it

I wonder if Mayor Rahm “The Ballerina” Emanuel will go out to talk to the gangs in his TUTU? That way they might laugh themselves to death.

I have to laugh a bit about the Trayvon Martin case in that regard. The media, Sharpton, Jackson, etc. wanted to make it a white man shoots innocent black boy story. When they found out that George Zimmerman was Hispanic, the media started reporting that Zimmerman was a “white Hispanic”. They literally created a new racial classification to keep the race angle alive in that story. And the liberals see nothing wrong with this.
Yes, most so called “gun violence” is Black on Black crime. The liberals/big government/statists do not give a Cracker Jack about that problem, so the focus is on the white school kids in Newtown CT as that jerks the chain of the White middle class.
It is so cynical that the liberals can jettison the Blacks and Hispanics who live in dangerous neighborhoods and make the gun issue about registering all us middle aged White gun owners who only shoot for sport/fun/self defense and have not harmed any other humans to 1/100 percent compared to Black on Black crime.
The type of firearm and magazine capacity is another distraction as the mass murderers usually have plenty of time to shoot before the cops get up the nerve to bust in.

I had an aunt and uncle in Western Springs, and I also went
to Chicago on business, once landing my plane at lakefront back in the 80s....a strange sensation, landing next to skyscrapers.
Chicago use to be a fine city till the Obozos took over.

We need a white Jesse Jackson or white Al Sharpton. Someone needs to stand up for the blacks that are being killed by blacks. Chicago has the toughest gun laws on record but it ain’t stoppin’ the killin’.
On another note, for the last two nights, after dark, a black woman last night and two black women tonight knocked on my door. They said they were selling something. But I have to wonder if they’re not scoping out houses to see if the owners aren’t home. I’m sleeping with my gun by my bed tonight. And I have faith that my dogs will certainly warn me if someone tries to break in. I hope I’m not a news story tomorrow.
It sure is easy to see Rahm’s highly effective leadership skills swiftly resolving these problems. The Chicago folks must be very proud of the dynamic leader they have chosen.
If given the choice of living in Chicago or a zoo, I’d choose the zoo.
