President Barack Obama says gun-control advocates have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes in the debate over firearms in America.
In an interview with The New Republic, Obama says he has "a profound respect" for the tradition of hunting that dates back for generations.
"And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake. Part of being able to move this forward is understanding the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas," he says.

"Yes," the president says, "in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time."

I think the key message is he is admitting they underestimated the response to this push and they are having to recalibrate their attack.

I also have a “profound respect” for the tradition of hunting. It puts food on the table. I also have fun shooting at targets and varmits with my .223 as a form of recreation. I am a law abiding citizen who handles weapons with the utmost safety. But my weapons are also for personal protection against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I want to have a weapon of equal or higher capability than anyone who would choose to attack me or my family. That Mr. President is why I will NEVER give up my Constitutional freedom to bear arms.
I wonder if he knows the history of what communist/socialist tyrants have done to their people after they disarmed them.....we will not let it happen to us without resistance. We will not comply. We will not just hand them over to tyrants.
I recommend that socialists who back this tyranny leave the country right now. The people will be hunting them with dogs if they continue on this line. Once violence begins....OMG!

So the founding fathers, who raised an army of volunteers largely self-armed, who overthrow an established government, put the Second Amendment to the US Constitution in place to secure the right to squirrel hunt? This guy is amazingly ignorant of our history. He’s all for arming drug dealers in Mexico and Islamists in Libya and Syria, but when it comes to law-abiding Americans all he sees is bitter people clinging to God and guns. What an arrogant fool he is.
Second Amendment defenders do have to contend with the Fudds among us, though I believe many of the latter are realizing that the current battle affects them, too.
That scoped bolt action deer rifle? “Medium range sniper weapon, ban it.”
Your .357 revolver? “For police use only, turn it in.”
My 870 pump shotgun? “Too easily combatized & should be used by police only.”
Your .22 revolver? “Favored by criminals & muggers, turn it in.”
That .177 air rifle? “Hazardous to children, can’t have it.”
Antique flintlock musket? “Black powder is an explosive used to bomb government buildings. Should be illegal.”
The list is endless..............
What do they trust citizens with?!
You cannot choose the size of beverage you want, you cannot choose the car you want, you cannot choose the health insurance policy you want.
But they do trust you to abort your children.......after all, those are peasant children.

No, Mr. President, YOU need to do more listening. And here’s your first listening assignment:
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Now, go to your law books and look up the definition in the United States Code of the “militia.” 10 USC 311 if you need the reference.
Now go to a dictionary and look up “people,” Mr. Constitutional Law Perfesser With Sealed Records.
Now shut the hell up.

I'm not sure that he ever "had" it. His behavior on this and many other issues is that of an immature, petutlant, not too bright teenager. I'm not convinced that he has the intellectual capacity to understand complex issues.
Do not underestimate this man. He is cunning and he is very intelligent. He plans to win through deceit and division. We need to stand together. We need to spread the word. We need to work our tails off. Otherwise, he will win.
Its not just Obama we’re fighting. There is a large cadre of well organized and funded communists who are working for the downfall of America.
I’d like to ask him “How does Michelle cook the skeet and what does it taste like?”
I guess this guy doesn’t realize that there are a lot of feral hogs running around in a lot of cities that need to be hunted. In fact, there’s a whole bunch of feral animals in the large cities.
No where in the Constitution is hunting mentioned.
BUT the 2nd Amendment states that the right to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. (pretty clear)

It must be because Obama is playing Wii or Xbox “skeet shooting” instead.
However, I think it is more likely that the Obamas doing “Dance Central” or something like that.
