I specifcally recall that the perps DNA was found on the body and clothes of Ms. Chandra Levy. Was this left out of the trial for some reason?

Thought the opposite; that degradation and decomposition of entire crime scene rendered DNA unreliable; and/or unavailable. But ‘who knows’ - yet; anyway; as to what is unfolding here. Interesting; in any case. . .
