President Barack Obama says he has not only fired a gun, but has done it regularly.
"In fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," the president told The New Republic. "Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there.
"And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations.. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake."

I don't think he's that stupid. I think he knows what it's really about, but doesn't approve of the lumpen proletariat being able to resist his utopian schemes. In this he is no different than those other "progressives", Lennin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc, etc.

His language is intentional. The Left has been carefully gaining control of the discussion through the straw-man of their generosity toward the guarantee of “hunting rights” in the 2nd Ammendment, thereby creating the subconscious framework that hunting is the extent of the rationale behind it.
When they attempt this type equivocation, they must be pounced upon. I would refuse to even discuss the matter with anyone who will not first acknowledge the premise that the 2A was created to ensure the existence of an armed populace able to resist a tyrannical government.

A conservative reporter should have asked Obama what his favorite skeet recipe is; and what wine goes well with it.
