A Philadelphia gun show is on for this weekend, even as a Harrisburg show is postponed after exhibitors balked at a ban on assault weapons.
Unlike the Harrisburg show (see related story), the Philadelphia show Saturday and Sunday at the National Guard Armory includes semi-automatic weapons. "Those weapons are available here, says Dave Zeller, a spokesman for Appalachian Promotions, which produces the show. The dealers that we have are licensed both by the federal government and the State of Pennsylvania.

The city of Harrisburg...which is deep into debt...really lost a fair amount of revenue from this weekend cancellation. I doubt if the city had any say in the whole matter...but there’s tons of hotel and restaurants who had high expectations of visitors for the weekend, and that just went down the drain.
Selling Full Auto guns is risky business......Oh wait, libtards publish “Assault” as just about anything that shoots.
Idiots
The AR-15’s have been the star attractions at recent gun show. Without them, you wouldn’t have much of a gun show.
The media have been playing this game for 25 years now.
“Why should we? What were doing is a lawful activity. Its legal by federal law and its legal by state law. Its no different than if we were going to do a boat show.”
Not bad, but he should have continued the thought...like this:
“Its no different than if we were going to do a boat show after a ferry crashes. Should a ferry boat crash stop all boat shows?
What a "Assault Weapon Rifle" is and is not...
What a full auto weapon and semi auto weapon means legally...
What is the difference between a "clip" and a "mag"
I know it probably be a waste of money but at least they can't claim ignorance...
I wish someone would tell the media Aholes that those weapons are NOT Assault Weapons. They are semi-Automatic Rifles.Media Get your damn facts straigt.
For all we know he did. The msm doesn't like to show stuff that undermines its antigun position. Example, years ago Sara Brady came to the King center here in Atl. to push a waiting period bill for Mainturd Jackasson (otherwise know as Maynard Jackson Atl's late and thoroughly corrupt and unlamented then mayor). About 40 of us showed up with sign that said "A right delayed is a right denied." A quote from the plagerizer, MLK, himself.
NOT ONE NEWS REPORT SHOWED THE SIGNS. Just showed our feet marching around. Also reported as "a handful of protesters" While 40 isn't a vast mob, I'd consider it more than a handful. Then there were the interviews. They interviewed a lot of people, but oddly enough gave more time to the one person from Brady's entourage, than our group. You see what's been going on for a long time.
An assault rifle is an intermediate caliber select fire rifle or carbine. A battle rifle is a select fire full power rifle.
An assault weapon, is whatever sort of gun, including pistols and shotguns, they want to ban.. this year. Current definition includes semiautomatic, with "anything which can function as a grip, + removable magazine or fixed magazine with >10 rounds capacity. Next year the details will differ. Although they may change tactics and go after "sniper rifles", once they get the semi-automatics.
I hear you, from the trenches, seeing it first-hand.
I remember in California, when Reagan reactivate the Battleship New Jersey, there was a HUGE celebration. But sure as heck, the media was able to find 6 people under an underpass complaining about it.
The bottom-line is that THEY own the media, and we seem powerless, even with ALL our money, to do anything about it. If we owned the media, we could flip this country overnight...but wealthy conservatives just don’t seem to want to do that.
Some journalists and anti-2nd amendment nuts realize they are not assault rifles. They are now calling them weapons of mass deatruction. I kid you not.
Environmental nazi extremists started it when they started calling themselves conservationists.
Not sure how literally to take that. If he means they're not allowing private sellers, then it's a pussout (albeit a lesser pussout than the other show) and nothing to pat him on the back for. That's basically the stance the left is ASKING for at gun shows.
If OTOH, he means "our dealers are licensed to the degree required by law for their selling scenario" i.e. FFL's are licensed and individuals are not, because they're not by law required to be, then KUDO's!
Media getting the facts straight with guns (or for just about anything else)?
Can you send me some of that stuff you're smokin', puppy? Must be real good!
