I don’t really watch FoxNews anymore, but twice while flipping by the network I noted the anchors adopting the left’s “effort to curb gun violence” phrase instead of “gun control.” That, and they seem equally on-board with amnesty now. Quite a change from a few years ago when they actually had Greta and their newspeople actually travel right to the border and interview citizens being overrun. Man, but FoxNews isn’t what it once was.

Gun control in Chicago is a joke, there never is an effort to seriously disarm the already law breaking black and hispanic drug gangs, never. To do so would upset blacks and hispanics, so this rhetoric is aimed at the bitter clinging white gun owning somewhat conservative voter so as to make white libs and thier racialist colored cohorts feel superior. Gun control in Illinois is a clown show basically little better than “White Privelege Studies” with a little gun jargon thrown in for measure. Its why the NRA and others wisely chose to put black men up in the legal cases.

And when I was growing up, a couple of Sheriff’s deputies in our family, not all, had the lowest morals of any I have ever met. And complete control freaks. They were not patriotic, just on a complete power trip.

If every judge in America decided that infringing on bearing arms was constitutional it wouldn’t make it so. The constitution means what says, not what judges say it means. There is no valid difference between Obama making a executive order striking down the 2nd amendment or the USSC doing it.

There are some 160,000 people in my county with under 200 total police (county, local, and state). There are some 4 or 5 thousand CCW holders and probably another 50 to 60 thousand who own shotguns or rifles that never needed registration.

We had a sheriff’s election over a year ago and the incumbent sheriff had put a deputy in every school, kept the county safe and friendly for years and liked to help out black kids who went wrong before they went REALLY wrong. The new commonweath’s attorney decided it was time for this guy to go, hand picked his successor and pursecuted, smeared and demoralized this good servant of the people with the local media helping. The “new” guy got elected and immediately took the deputies out of the school because of cost...then the school board just GAVE every high school student in the county an iPad...

I have said as much here on several occasions, when people have said "LEOs won't go along with this."
There are no cops in my family (and I'm 100% Irish - go figure!), but I have absolutely no doubt that many, if not most, LEOs will not hesitate for a nanosecond, to confiscate guns, to arrest law-abiding citizens who happen to own suddenly "illegal" guns, or to participate in SWAT style raids (as if the old "No knock" drug raids, many of which have resulted in the injury or death of innocents, aren't already evidence enough of this).

The declaration of independence does not reference the 2nd amendment either in principle or explicitly. The 2nd amdnement was adopted (along with the rest of the bill of rights) about 15 years after the declaration.
