What did Republicans win in the immigration deal? (No guarantee on border security!!)
Washington Post ^ | Monday January 28, 2013 | Greg Sargent

It’s has been widely assumed this morning by some immigration advocates (and by yours truly, too) that the new immigration reform plan’s process of citizenship for the country’s 11 million undocumented immigrants is contingent on a commission of Southwestern officials declaring the border secure.

Not true. I’ve now got clarification from Senate staff working on the bill, and it turns out that the enforcement commission’s judgments will only be advisory, and are entirely nonbinding. Congress’ actions will not be dictated by what this commission concludes; neither will actions taken by the Department of Homeland Security. The citizenship process will be triggered by other means

[...... ]

But the commission isn’t, for all practical purposes, really a major concession at all. If you look at the framework released by the bipartisan group of eight Senators today, it never quite says directly that the citizenship process can’t move forward until the commission reaches its findings. Rather, it says the plan creates a commission that will make a “recommendation” on when border security has been achieved, and doesn’t specify that this recommendation is what triggers the citizenship process.

Like 1986 all over again but with more ghastly implications and the Stupid Party willingly subjects itself to the Dems and super majorities once the once-Illegals start voting for the Dems

The Dems (Socialists) pulled the same crap on Reagan.. Reagan granted amnesty in exchange for the Dems promising full border fence that NEVER happened. WHY is the GOP helping the Dems to grow their voter base? What a crock of chit!

P.S.. McCain says illegal alien incursions are down.. WTF? They’re “DOWN” because 0bama has ordered the border patrol NOT to detain them or stop them from coming in!!

Nothing but demographic gain for Dems... 11 million new voters for them, and what, exactly for Repubs?

Why don’t they just call this the “Turn Texas into a Blue State” Act? That’s what it basically is. Twenty-five million new Democrat voters. A recipe cooked up by the ruling-class Dem/GOP-E to permanently enshrine them in power. Dilute and disenfranchise any tea-party leaning Constitutionalists that could gum up their plans.

It’s a final bullet-in-the-head for America. I particularly hope these eight traitors burn in hell for all eternity. Especially that bastard Rubio.

It sounds to me like McCain just said on FNC that we need Mexican Nationals to mow our lawns, cook our meals and watch our children. Isn’t that racist? All the the biggest buffoons in the Senate are up there on the stage. One way to stop this bill is to have an amendment added to the bill saying any illegal caught voting will be immediately deported with no opportunity to come back. Ever!

I am no fan of Rubio but why single him out? He has always been in favor of immigration reform. We all know that was code for making the illegals citizens.
I for one never understood the fascination with him. Including him is supposed to make it more palatable to the base.

I don’t care what the hell kind of deal these few Senators have come to. My demand to my Senators and Congressman is NO DEAL, PERIOD.

I don’t care if Rubio, Ryan -who the hell ever signs on because ‘we have to get the Hispanic base blah blah blah, puke!’

I’ll have none of it. These uneducated, criminal invaders have no business being here, we don’t need them, they harm us immeasurably....Democrats want them because they want their certain votes. Misguided appeasing Republicans (Rubio included) want them because they think legal Hispanics will ‘like’ us then. Bullshit! We have enough ‘legal’ immigration already. We don’t need 50 million more illegals to suddenly turn up to “get in line” with some token slap on the wrist.

We either a nation of laws and assimilated citizens or not. And, if you’re a Hispanic out there that is intrinsically hispanic-biased and thinks “let’s give them a chance because we share a culture together”, then you have another think coming.

These criminals, these uneducated, ignorant peasants who’ll go to the first public aid office they can find when they’re ‘legal’ will BREAK you, break your wallet, kill your family in a drunk driving accident, rape your wife/daughter when drunk, steal the food out of your childrens’ mouths, and spread some heretofore extinct disease to them through their children in your mostly hispanic kindergarten/Pre-K where the government pays for the babysitting.

Wake the hell up!

Remember when we started to build a fence, then Kay Bailey Hutchison quietly pulled the funding. No republican senator is to be trusted.

Rubio is to be on Rush tomorrow. He’s being groomed to be the 2016 nominee a la McCain. His conservatism will be watered down to placate the moderate to liberal establishment and any potential rival (Paul) will be openly demonized.

Oh, I’ve long been wary of Rubio. Happy when he beat out the loathesome Crist for the nomination, and had some initial hopes for him. But after winning, there were lots of subtle, tell-tale signs in the way he immediately began distancing himself from the tea-party and cozied up to the establishment hacks. Not to mention his stumbling, cowardly reaction when asked about Brewer’s AZ law.

It sounds like Rubio and the GOP are putting their foot down if you do a full read with the update. The fight is not over by a long shot.

“I am no fan of Rubio but why single him out?”

Because everyone knows Graham and McCain are RINOs but there are plenty of people who are under the false impression that Rubio is not.
