Did anyone else raise an eyebrow when President Obama over the weekend told The New Republic that he likes to shoot skeet at Camp David?
"Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he told the magazine.
His comments seemed remarkable for two reasons: His fondness for shotguns has never been revealed before. But his disdain for Camp David has.
"He hates it," said New York Times White House reporter Helene Cooper last May on the Chris Matthews show. "Obama doesn't like going there," she added.
The reason: It doesn't have a golf course, just a putting green. For Obama, said the presidential reporter, "It's all about the golf."
The proof of his attitude toward Camp David is in the numbers. CBS White House reporter Mark Knoller reveals that the president has been to "Camp" just 29 times, accounting for 72 days. That's about five percent of his presidency, now in its second term.
Over two terms, former President George W. Bush visited Camp David 149 times over 487 days.

Baraq played more rounds of golf in 2011 than my SIL who is a PGA club professional.
Apparently a majority of the voters were not unhappy with that.
We all have a pretty good idea of what Obama is doing when he’s ostensibly golfing. It’s nearly impossible to do that sort of thing in an enclosed and isolated enclave like Camp David. No wonder he hates it.
I want to see real pictures, and not photoshopped versions, of Obama actually shooting skeet. This is more likely a lie of the magnitude that the North Koreans use to describe the exploits of their Dear Leader.

When the heat starts getting heavier, Camp David WILL have a golf course so the anointed one can visit there more often and perhaps, just perhaps do some skeet shooting.
I think a great nickname for him would be skeeter....
Not room for a course. Camp David is about 1.25 kilometers X .8 kilometer and about 3.1 kilometers around. (Google Earth)
I think he would be terrified of a gun - wait, let me change that - “I” WOULD BE TERRIFIED IF HE HAD A GUN.

Why doesn’t his royal highness decree that there should be a golf course at Camp David.
We’ve got money to burn - they could put one there in a week. Or how about on the National Mall? Just Executive-order it....
Obama thought ‘skeet’ was a reporter at FNC.
It doesn’t? That’s surprising, golf was one of President Eisenhower’s (the guy who owned it originally) favorite pastimes.
Guess he doesn’t like Holly Hills Country Club in Ijamsville MD; it’s not that far away.
The left, as late as the 90s, mocked Ike for spending so much of his presidency on the golf course. I guess they’ve “evolved” on this issue.
