Washington, D.C.Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement after President Obama delivered an address on immigration reform at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas:
President Obama offered a clear vision of the steps we need to take to fix our broken immigration system, and made clear that he stands ready to work with the members of Congress on both sides of the aisle who are currently drafting a common-sense, bipartisan solution to this issue.
President Obamas administration has already made great strides in securing our border including more than doubling the number of boots on the ground and deploying new surveillance tools. He has also implemented smart policies that focus our limited law enforcement resources on violent criminals, instead of high school students who were brought to this nation as children, and know no home other than the United States of America.
As President Obama said today, it is ultimately up to Congress to fix our broken immigration system. In Nevada, I have seen firsthand how the hardships imposed by our broken immigration system have hurt families and strained our economy. I am personally committed to resolving this issue. With the Presidents leadership and members of both parties working together in the Senate, the momentum towards a solution is real, and I will work tirelessly to make reform a reality in the Senate.
Sorry Harry...a one party system is not bipartisan....
You were right the first time and that goes for The Won too.
It's obvious that for some reason, 0bummer doesn't want this bill to go anywhere. Otherwise, why keep enforcement out of it even before it gets to the House? If it passed, he'd just ignore the enforcement part anyway. My guess is that he just wants to change the subject as quickly as possiblejust blame the GOP for inaction and move on to something else that's evil. Thoughts?
The bill gets scuttled, he blames the GOP through a willing media; or (more likely IMO) the GOP will yield to the pressure, simply surrender and Obama will get everything he wants.
You just know the GOP wants to give in here. They think that will make the issue go away - for the individual party members until they retire anyway, as it did for Alan Simpson.
Isn’t it oddly telling that even the mimsycrats are using Sarah Palin’s language as if they owned it?
The democrats NEVER fix anything. To do so would make them obsolete, and they would not have anything to run on, wouldn’t have anybody to vilify! There must be issues to blame on the republicans and an ever present social net to catch ever more victims.
Awesome Graphic! How true is that?
His heinous does it every time. No brainer.
