Gov. Deval Patrick's pick for interim U.S. senator, William "Mo" Cowan, has been a loyal donor to Patrick and other Democrats with one exception -- a Republican Democrats love to hate: Mitt Romney.

Cowan, then an attorney at Mintz Levin, contributed at least $200 to Romney's 2002 gubernatorial campaign, according to Massachusetts campaign finance records. Cowan did not give money to Romney's Democratic opponent, Shannon O'Brien, records show.

Does Howie Carr still play the "Do you know who I am?" clip with Moe Green in the Godfather? He could do this for Mo Cowan.

Meanwhile Jeff Katz said someone on WBZ said it would be the first black US Senator from Mass.

Apparently Ed Brooke (R) must have been white.

“Cowan’s donation to the 2012 GOP presidential nominee could be a little awkward as Patrick names him as the Bay State’s new interim senator.”

No more awkward than the MA GOP chairman donating the maximum amount to Chuck Schumer. Cowan’s $200 to Romney was chump change compared to the chairman’s $2500.00 Schumer donation.

I’d never accuse Willard of being a Republican any more than I would Mayor Bloomingturd in NYC.

Malden people on Facebook are all Ga Ga over Ed Markey kicking off his campaign this Saturday. They know nothing of the legislation he sponsored. Waxman-Markey aka “Whacky-Marxist” would destroy the energy industry. Everyone in our neighborhood (where Ed Markey lives/sarc) heats their houses with either oil or gas.

I think ‘BZ said “minority member”. Ed Brooke did Barbara Walters, which puts him squarely in the majority.

Besides, isn’t Princess Liawatha a minority? She’s 1/32 Oklahoman.
