To the Amazon point - Not all companies expect or even desire profit from all of their brands. Sometimes, they will sell a brand name product at a break-even point or even a loss if it means that they can pick up market share. Once the market share is of a substantial percentage, they can then raise the costs and make up the past lost profits.

I do too; they’re making billions on us all. And their friggin’ insidious browser cookies follow us around to all the other websites. I keep deleting them from Opera, but they keep coming back. LOL.

Just because they offer good deals or low prices, does not mean that they are selling at a loss. It only means that they have negotiated great wholesale prices or great shipping rates or that they have invented some other efficiency gain.

No one can sell at a loss for very long.

Since Amazon Prime delivers second day air for free I would assume that is part of their losses. How can you afford to ship say a $6 item second day air and make a profit? I love ordering things on Thursday that are supposed to be delivered on Saturday and it almost always comes overnight on Friday ;o)
