Sen. David Vitter: Marco Rubio ‘nuts’ on immigration
POLITICO ^ | MACKENZIE WEINGER

Posted on 01/30/2013 10:42:47 AM PST by JohnPDuncan

Sen. David Vitter on Wednesday called Florida Sen. Marco Rubio “amazingly naïve” and “nuts” on the issue of immigration and slammed the new bipartisan reform proposal as “ridiculous.”

The Louisiana Republican told “The Laura Ingraham Show” that the blueprint unveiled by a group of eight senators is a plan that mirrors the “same old” failed immigration reform of 1986. Rubio’s belief that enforcement mechanisms will work this time around is “just amazingly naïve,” Vitter said.

“I love and respect Marco. I think he’s just amazingly naïve on this issue,” Vitter said. “This is the same old formula that we’ve dealt with before, including when it passed in 1986, and that is promises of enforcement and immediate amnesty. And of course, the promises of enforcement never materialize. The amnesty happens immediately — the millisecond the bill is signed into law, and the same is true here. No, they won’t be citizens immediately. They will be legal.”

“Citizenship is guaranteed at that point as a practical matter,” he added.

Vitter said that if the Florida Republican doesn’t think legal status offers a pathway to citizenship, “he’s nuts.”

If we give them amnesty and a pathway to Canadian citizenship, they will go away ~ because Canadian medical care is cheaper than ObamaKKKare.

You won't find Americans reluctant to do that.

When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ? What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ?

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

No, it is not morally wrong to ship family units BACK HOME!

The illegal alien chillun' have illegal alien mothers, fathers, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents.

It is morally WRONG to put any illegal in line ahead of any legal immigrant or an American citizen!

I fully expect some to surrender this issue, its difficult to stay the course.

The quislings in the party and their new friends in the Democrat party may succeed in administering the final bullet to the head of this country as founded but personally I will never, ever sanction their cowardice.

I don’t like Rubio and his intentions are not good in my opinion. He is just the lastest pretty face with a sweet-talking Globalist NWO line of BS. Do not be sucked in. Where’s the integrity? Words count. Actions count more. This will not preserve America - The Repubs are selling us down the rathole right along with the Statists on the Left.

If I'm not mistaken good Sen. David Vitter (R) of Louisiana voted along with little Rat senator Mary *New Orleans whore* Landreau (D) to confirm traitor John Kerry Secretary of State.
How much weight does his words carry?

You are arguing on behalf of separating young children from their parents!

It would appear you haven't thought this through well at all!

That’s fine. Deport a few every year, cut off a few more jobs and benefits every year. It doesn’t have to be done instantly.

I like Rubio and think his intentions are good, but he's wrong here. Hispanics aren't going to like us (conservatives/Republicans) better because we are for a "path to citizenship" for illegals. There is absolutely no evidence to show that agreeing with the Democrats on this issue helps us. Reagan did an amnesty and it didn't help Bush in 88'. McCain was well known for supporting "comprehensive immigration reform" and it didn't help him in 08'.

If we amnesty these illegals it is simply going to add millions of Democrats to the voter rolls. These Hispanics (mostly Mexicans) are natural Democrat voters. Mexico is a socialist craphole and the people there mostly keep voting for the same collectivist parties and politicians. When they become American citizens they retain the same voting patterns.

I agree with most of your insightful post. I disagree with your thinking Rubio's intentions are "good." Rubio knows exactly how the RATS operate and what the result of Amnesty will be. Rubio cannot be that naive. I think what Rubio is doing is devious and ultimately highly destructive. He may naively think that somehow he can convince the newly "minted" RAT voters to vote for him because he can say, "Hey, I am hispanic too."

That will never happen. The mindset of the illegals that are here will guarantee the RATS that at least 80% of these illegals will forever vote for the RAT party.

The culture of most of the illegals is to view the State as a positive source of goods and services. They do not have a culture of respecting individual rights and the rule of law, much less the belief in limited government.

Rubio will be just as guilty as the evil left if they succeed in driving amnesty forward.

Vitter is right on the money.

Good for David Vitter for telling it like it is. Super Marco's plan is the same old, same old, dressed up in Obama-type oratory, designed to soothe, appease, trust, re-assure and.....freeze us up from action.

The senator is grasping the moment, making all the supposedly-"right" moves to grease the way to a future presidential run....and for a newbie, one must admit, he's slick as a busy Florida highway during turtle migration.

In the welter of empty verbiage, show me ONE single sentence from Rubio in which he promises a fight of epic proportions against an amnesty-dump of horrific proportions and consequences to the economy and culture of this nation.......flash-banged on us immediately after we're hypnotized by fake promises of closing and protecting the borders, promises routinely torn apart by perfidious leftist Dems.

Shakespeare (through MacBeth) had it right false players on this issue appearing on the acting boards of real life....."...a poor player who frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more; a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"

No Marco is amazingly ambitious and he is looking for a grand accomplishment to launch his 2016 presidential aspirations.

The conservative who once dallied with a hooker makes more sense than the Hispano Racist who is under the thumb of Obama and the Mexican Drug Cartels

Just wonder how many Rubio Supporter Libs are going to attack Vitter to defend Rubio-Obama Amnesty?

Good that Vitter spoke up. Rubio-Obama Amnesty needs to be stopped

No, they are not going to vote “for us” unless “us” is a Democrat. They are going to vote for free stuff and Democrats like they have been reliably doing for decades.

Defeat may be inevitably, but I want to gut every ‘Pubbie who chooses to do the wrong thing because it is easier or inevitable.

Yup, I voted for him and I now have to admit I voted for a man who voted to confirm John Kerry Secretary of State.
He does talk the conservative talk, but he didn't walk the walk.
As far as I'm concerned we need to get rid of him and Rat Mary Landreau now.
We are out of time to forgive false conservatives, they're no better than Rats when when it comes to crucial votes.
