The impact is from some kind of anti-tank weapon. Can't tell if it's been doctored, but the footage is pretty dramatic:

I never saw anything incoming it just suddenly blew up. And who was the guy that ran away from near it later? I didn’t get that either, maybe there was an accident inside the tank and a shell exploded.

That's what happens when you use a high explosive anti-tank round to hit a tank fully loaded with high explosive rounds for the main gun, and machine gun ammunition.

My guess is that he was standing behind the tank. No way anyone could have gotten out of that tank alive.

Yep...it almost looks like a main gun round cooked off in the tube with the breech open, and the rest of the ammo in turret storage went up.

In slo mo looks like the round in the breech cooked off or was otherwise set off prior to closure. There is fire coming out of the tube same time as the explosion in the turret.

Those look like t-72’s. If memory serves, the main battle gun’s ammo is stored in the rear. As another poster pointed out, one might have gone off in the breach prematurely. That could have definitely cooked off the rest (I don’t think the warhead is “armed” until spun out of the barrel, but it has been a while)

Also, looks like the dude who ran away from it was crew that got blown out of the turret, which does happen occasionally.

The lack of people and activity around the tanks makes me wonder if they were abandoned after they ran out of diesel and then blown up by the rebels.

After the first tank gets blown up, the track commander pops up out of the background tank and the foreground tank elevates its main gun, traverses left a bit, depresses the gun a bit then traverses left more. I think those tanks are live and not abandoned.
