Few are the men and women in American public life who haven't heard Mr. Dooley's famous aphorism: "Politics ain't beanbag." John Boehner, currently serving out his community service as speaker of the House, appears to have been meditating on Mr. Dooley's cautionary wisdom. At the Ripon Society last week he said the Obama administration was trying "to annihilate the Republican Party."
Better late than never, Speaker Boehner now sees that Barack Obama's notion of political competition is Mad Max inside the Thunderdome: "Two men enter, one man leaves."
Last week during the president's second inaugural address, if one can employ that hallowed phrase to describe this speech, Mr. Obama used the occasion to defend entitlement programs by whacking his defeated presidential opponent: "They do not make us a nation of takers."
This was the second time Mr. Obama used a traditionally elevated forum to take down his opposition. His 2010 State of the Union speech will be remembered in history for nothing other than an attack on members of the Supreme Court seated before him. Justice Samuel Alito's whispered "Not true" would prove a prophetic comment on the Obama modus operandi.
Subsequent targets of the president's contempt have included the members of Congress's deficit-reduction supercommittee, the Ryan budget ("antithetical to our entire history"), repeated attacks on the "well off" and bankers, and famously a $100 million dump-truck of vilification on Mitt Romney.
When he won, the rationalization was that it was all a shrewd if brutal campaign strategy. But it kept coming. What is striking about the Obama technique is that it's not so much criticism as something closer to political obliteration, driving his opposition out of the political arena altogether.
If the opposition is looking for one word to shape its role now, it would be this: Dissent.

If Andrew Cuomo’s recent poll tumble is an indicator, it will transpire that the country will eventually find liberal Democrats’ ideas to be utterly intolerable.
So far, the Republicans are doing a great job of destroying themselves with their lunatic attack on their base. The Stupid Party should be promoted to the Mouth Breathing Moron Party.
It’s too late to work within the system, and too early to shoot these commie bastards. Quite the quandry to say the least.

With no mainstream media exposure or voice ,
the Conservative voice has no resonance to the uninformed voter.
The Conservative voice has been silenced !
As much as I oppose libtards; at least they believe in their nonsense.
RINOS apparently believe in not believing in anything. Lukewarm, spit from mouth.
“the Mouth Breathing Moron Party”
And with that laugh, I can retire for the night.
By the time most Americans wake up and recognize what time it really is - the trains will be waiting and the ovens will be fired up. We will not have a single chance to stop our own extermination from within, and then - from without.
Herbert Marcuse: “Certain things cannot be said, certain ideas cannot be expressed, certain policies cannot be proposed.”
Yeah. That sounds like something a leftist would say.
0bamugabe has certainly opened his second term with a blitzkrieg strategy and a scorched earth policy. If the Pubbies don’t see that then they are doomed.
They don’t really need to exterminate us. If one cannot speak a forbidden thought, like sodomy is unnatural, without losing one’s job, paying a prohibitive fine, and/or having one’s children taken by the state, then they’ll have accomplished what they want without violence. I’m not saying they wouldn’t eventually resort to violence if they had to, but why bother when there are other means to silence the vast majority of us? The few that are left will be held up for derision as regressive throwbacks.
That first occurred to me after the election in November, and frequently since then. This status quo cannot endure.
Hundreds of thousands of people show up in Washington for a pro-life event. It barely gets a mention in the papers.
That's as if the media during the Vietnam era had avoided covering the protest movement. Then, dissent was treated as important; now, it's impolite, unspeakable.
The Jews and the Kulaks and Mao’s intellectuals and every people brought under the rule of Socialists/Marxists by their own leaders all thought that if they were cooperative, they wouldn’t be exterminated either.
It’s not just about subjugation with MarxoFascists. They have to eradicate the soul and any mental thought against the state.
That is it’s nature.
That is Obama and his Handlers’ nature.
Silencing us all now simply will make the tasks they seek to accomplish, a whole lot easier.
It’s not the News Reports, it’s who decides what News to Report.
March for Life, 500,000 in attendance, not a blip on the radar.
Gun Control Nuts March in D.C., 2,000 in attendance, the story of the week.
If the current day Media existed in 1776, Piers Morgan would be His Majesty, the King of the Colonies.
History does prove the left cannot tolerate dissent. As someone on the right, I respect the right of people to say sodomy is normal and natural. I think it’s idiocy, but I respect their right to be idiots. That said, why do they want to silence us? Could it be that the truth is destructive to their worldview? Perhaps. The Bible does make it clear that Christians will be persecuted for telling the truth. Conservativism is not necessarily Christian, but it’s highly offensive to many on the left.
It’s also amazing how the left’s distortions extend to the language itself. Fairness and justice to me means something entirely different to someone on the left. We aren’t even speaking the same language anymore.
What can be done about it? I don’t know. Perhaps we need to be even more vocal about the truth in far more settings. The left is even attacking that. They are trying to make politics and religion off limits in public. This is thought tyranny, a war on the mind if you ask me. As I wrote, the left has turned deception into an art form.
This is the goal of Obama’s Teleprompter.
Obama’s own goal is to snort as much cocaine as possible without detection.
We see proof of this with his “skeet shooting all the time” comment, which is:
1. Not from Teleprompter.
2. Can only be attributed to delusion from serious drug use.
“RINOS apparently believe in not believing in anything. Lukewarm, spit from mouth.”
RINOS believe in feathering their own nests and assimilating into network of like minded associates who will give them high paying consulting or lobbying jobs if the voters ever throw them out of office. It is the ultimate backscratching club they join when they arrive in Congress.
MAybe not; but it DOES make you a President of VOTEBUYING; and Buster - that is ILLEGAL!
THIS is what you get with a state run media AND a leader who acts independently and totally without regard for the Constitution or any precedent whatsoever.
Thank you Liberal America!
We survived the BullMoose party in 1912 (no one was bitten) and we’ll probably survive the BullCrap one we have now.
Monkey Wrench Gang
You can only be silenced thru intimidation.
I do not think that is a one-way street.
It would if they'd marched on the WP, and sealed it off from the outside world!
That many folks could SURROUND an awful lot of 'providers'; thereby keeping Choosy Mothers from their appointed meeting with DEATH.
Sorry; but it IS functioning: exactly like it's OWNERs want!
We have GOT to buy back the media!
I will see your “intolerable”
and raise you “Free Stuff” and an “obamaphone”
The best strategy at this point would be to work through your state government and
How about we call reporters “communists”?
we have gloria vanderbilt’s son doing a second amendment bashing fest on cnn later today.
Maybe. There are no guarantees about it at all. At any rate I was speaking of the politics going on not the nation in general.
