Distraught by his poor performance in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee, liberals viciously turned on secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel on social media.

this hearing is beginning to remind me of the 1st Obama-Romney debate

If this is the best nominee the administration can come up with, they need to borrow Mitt’s binders.

A Kerry hearing would have been a disaster too if the Republicans hadn’t glad handed him.

Funny how Republicans turned on a Republican like Hagel, and fellated a democrat liberal traitor like Kerry.

Not that Hagel should be confirmed, He shouldn’t be, but just funny that they passed on Kerry in such a generous manner.More than funny-—suspiscious.

Maybe if McCain attacked Obama as fiercely as he did his former friend Hagel, we might not be in this mess.

You almost have to think it was planned that way, though I always fear giving politicians undue credit. By all rights Kerry should have gotten all the weird outrage aimed at Hagel, which by the way I still don’t understand, no matter how bad he is at dog and pony shows. We have the goods on Kerry, or did 8 or so years ago. Just hit refresh.

Also, it matters that Kerry actually is worse, much worse, for the position than Hagel for his. I don’t hesitate to declare him unfit fir office. Yet somehow Pubs let him slide by, pushing him along, even. He falls into the old “Well, the President can have what he wants, unless it’s a child sex maniac, or something” file. Obama can’t have Hagel, though, for some inconceivable reason. Hmmm.

You always hate apostates and traitors more than your enemies. It’s a universal human quirk. Did they know nominating a Pub slightly at odds neocons and the Isreal Lobby would provide cover for Kerry’s flanking maneuver? Well played, if so.

Yeah, but Obama only wants to fundamentally transform our country. Hagel said mean things about Israel a couple times, maybe. Blasphemer!

Obama: Well is there any good news?
Staffer: He didn’t say the Holocaust was a hoax. That’s good.

Ted Cruz shamed Hagel with old video statements.

McCain slammed him with facts about the surge.

Lindsey Graham threw everything in her purse at him.

The Hagel nomination is hanging by a thread.

I don’t like Hagel (or McCain for that matter) but McCain only excels at trashing other Republicans.

Wonder if some of them voted for him to get him out of the Senate? New position might allow for more individual coverage of his activities whereas in the Senate he has cover and is part of the group. One of the reason they like the committee structure - no one person has to take the blame and things are reported as “The committee determined....”, or “Congress passed...”, or it’s the “GOP’s fault...
