A lesbian wife of a Fort Bragg soldier was named the installation's military spouse of the year through a voting competition.
Ashley Broadway is not recognized as a spouse under federal law, and she recently was denied official membership in a Fort Bragg officers' spouses organization. But her selection in the competition by Military Spouse magazine was praised by advocates for gays and lesbians, who say it underscores the need for the federal government to extend full benefits to same-sex couples.

I would think that the sacrifice of a married couple to raise a family and to be betrothed for life would be the point of being a spouse. Not sexual promiscuity.

God’s Judgement is at hand and by the time these next four years are over with, the U.S will move be severely facing God’s punishment as more people turn away and rebuke him. That is of course judgement doesn’t start before then. We can only hope.
How do they determine which partner is the wife and which is the husband. What if next week the partner that was named “Wife of the Year” decides she no longer wants to play the role of wife and now wants to be recognized as the husband? Does she have to forfeit her award?
I suppose that in the near future when a man can have two wives, or a lesbian can have two female partners, this “Wife of the Year” crap is going to get very complicated.

But I hate to say it ...our nation’s young people, although many valiant and serving us proudly, also have very liberal ideas about this. I wouldn’t doubt that a lot of them who are on active duty now have no problem with this.
Times have just changed. America has changed. And not for the better. Everyone under 30 is sympathetic to the gay cause.

You are correct. Views about this have changed dramatically among the younger generations. During this past election cycle I dealt with many younger people that are basically conservative or open to conservatism on economic issues (especially debt), but won't even consider voting Republican because of our positions on gay marriage and other social issues. It really is appalling how out of favor conservatives/Republicans are with the under 30's. Many of these young people don't even see voting conservative as an option. This is a result of the left having entirely taken over the education and entertainment establishments. We ceded these areas to the secular socialists and it will likely take generations to reverse the damage.
Take note, those of you who think the military would overwhelmingly side with traditional liberties and the Constitution, as opposed to their chain of command and their paymaster in the event of a crisis, civil war or a putsch.
There would be a split - who got the bigger part of the wishbone no one will know unless and until it breaks.
next up, military clergy forced to perform gay marriages and the churches must accommodate the ceremonies.

That is correct...I went in in the 50’s, from a small town(s) in Upstate NY, had little experience with the female side of the species (in THAT way) and absolutely NONE with the male side of it —was ‘sheltered’ enough to not even know that community existed.
I am sure there were some around that I came in contact with but they didn’t ‘brag’ about it. Maybe my feelings should be ‘hurt’ that I hadn’t been approached. s/
Went to a reunion and found one of my classmates had married a guy a year ahead of us and it turned out he ‘played for the other team’. He played sports and never approached anyone that I was aware of and at the reunion no one ‘shunned’ him or anything like that. Of course, that was the 50th so age may have had ‘something’ to do with the ‘acceptance’.
Today’s kids are force fed this and even MY children are/were more tolerant of the situation and now that my grandchildren are serving(of age) that ‘gay kid’ over there is just another kid (for the most part).

Since Obama’s election we’ve already lost one war in a Muslim country and are well on our way to losing a second; any guess as to which side God is on? We surrendered the moral high ground a long time ago; savages that don’t know better can plead ignorance, but we DID know better and still turned from God. When one looks at the policies of this country today (abortion, “homosexual marriage”, assaults on the family, etc.), it is easy to see how imams can convince millions that we are the Great Satan.

Actually just one segment is (”white” Americans under thirty); FWIW, there are a LOT more people under 30 in this country that don’t fit in that category.

The prince of darkness, lies and deceit has been very successful in slowly pushing his agenda against God Almighty with the invasion of our schools, government and religious institutions. But his time is coming to an end. We need to pray that the people will open their eyes and repent and accept Christ. That will be the only way to really turn this around.

The removal of religious exemptions from ObamaCare was an open, public attack on religious liberty, and didn’t hurt Obama at all. Don’t expect Americans to repent for anything; they are too comfortable with their third spouses, avoiding the responsibilities they have towards their children by their first spouses. The “replacement Americans” have more faith, but it isn’t the same as we used to have.
I have 2 adult children well under 30 that are conservative Christian NRA members. Not all hope is lost

I have younger children, raising them in a similar manner, but if they won’t be fruitful & multiply the whole exercise is academic. I haven’t given up hope; I just realize that the help will have to be imported. The culture war conservative are losing here hardly impact unassimilated Muslims, Hindus, and other assorted “replacement Americans” that have no stomach for “gay marriage”, many have strong work ethics, and they share a common contempt for America’s permanent multi-generational underclass.
Many of my children’s friends are from imported parents (my children have an imported mother); they have intact families and work hard enough to despise socialism.
Fort Bragg has become Fort Gagg.
