An armed guard at a Georgia middle school disarmed a student who had opened fire, wounding one person.
A student opened fire at his middle school Thursday afternoon, wounding a 14-year-old in the neck before an armed officer working at the school was able to get the gun away, police said.
Multiple shots were fired in the courtyard of Price Middle School just south of downtown about 1:50 p.m. and the one boy was hit, Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said. In the aftermath, a teacher received minor cuts, he said.
The wounded boy was taken "alert, conscious and breathing" to Grady Memorial Hospital, said police spokesman Carlos Campos. Grady Heath System Spokeswoman Denise Simpson said the teen had been discharged from the hospital Thursday night. Campos said charges against the shooter were pending.

Thank God he was there! Off duty but able to do what had to be done to protect the people in the building.
Get more stories like this out there, and the number of copycat shootings will go down.
It just happened yesterday afternoon. It was on tv yesterday evening and on the radio yesterday afternoon.
The MSM will kill this story.

Why isn’t it front page news? Because it doesn’t fit the gun grabbers’ agenda. That’s why.
And unfortunately for us, there’s no way to determine how many lives may have even saved by a mere single trained, armed man with a gun. I suspect it’s safe to bet there were at least two, though: the victim who was shot and the shooter (they often shoot themselves).
This might have really turned nasty.
In order to try getting the word out, I shared it on my Facebook page. Hopefully others will pass the story along and perhaps, just perhaps people will read it. We have to be our own “media”.
I have been critical of Police for showing up after the fact and being called “hero’s”. Hero is a word that is used way too often.
In this case, what the off duty cop did was indeed heroic.
remember the mother jones magazine study only counts incidents where there are at least four dead an ONLY when nobody is defending.

For the same reason that the CCW holder who stopped the mall shooting in the northwest a few weeks ago - without firing a shot - has been under reported.
It doesn’t fit the agenda.....

Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh has weighed in on the hysterical call by Democratic Party leaders to ban guns, limit magazine capacities and impose all sorts of other restrictions both in Springfield and in Washington, D.C.
While he doesn’t come out and say he’s not going to enforce further gun bans, he does cover a number of points that are just common sense around here:
Right to carry will deter crime.
America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15, isn’t criminally misused around here.
Magazine capacity isn’t an issue.
Cops here, including him, support law-abiding citizens’ right to carry and possess firearms of all sorts.
The real problem for his department is mental health issues.
Sheriff Walsh probably isn’t going to earn himself any free donuts for the department from Governor Quinn’s office, and certainly not from Senator Durbin or President Obama, but he calls it like he sees it.

Because guns are bad and are never used to save lives. And, it runs counter to their agenda.
